Trump’s Latest BIG LIE: Calls The January 6 Capitol Insurrection ‘A Hoax’

It’s safe to say that there’s only one thing that failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump actually excels at: Lying.

Whether it’s his endless lies about having never sexually assaulted or harassed anyone, his bragging about being a “great businessman” (so great he filed for bankruptcy on multiple occasions), or his endless whining about how he actually won the 2020 election (though he has never provided a shred of evidence or factual support), Trump does indeed lie more often than he breathes.

And now we can add a new lie to the Trump repertoire: The January 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol was just “a hoax.”

That lie was brought out of the bullshit bag Donald carries with him wherever he goes during his “Save America” rally in Perry, Georgia, over the weekend, and it almost went unnoticed until journalist Aaron Rupar shared a clip on Twitter of the disgraced ex-president telling the crowd:

“This is what’s going on with Russia, they made up a hoax. We had to live with it for three years, what kind of a sick perverted mind does that, and it was the lawyer, Hillary Clinton, and the Democrats, who made it up. And now they’re doing it again with the January 6th. And they’re doing it again, they’re doing it again.”

Wow! That’s quite a trifecta there: Russia, Hillary Clinton, and Jan. 6! And, as with nearly everything Trump says, it’s not only a lie, it’s also classic psychological projection, which is defined as:

“Projection is the process of displacing one’s feelings onto a different person, animal, or object. The term is most commonly used to describe defensive projection—attributing one’s own unacceptable urges to another. For example, if someone continuously bullies and ridicules a peer about his insecurities, the bully might be projecting his own struggle with self-esteem onto the other person.”

Donald Trump has very low self-esteem. That’s why he brags about how great and brilliant he is. And it’s also why he calls everyone else a liar: To deflect from the fact that he’s the biggest liar on the planet. If you doubt that, just listen to five minutes of a Trump speech and count how many times he says “believe me.” Someone who’s telling the truth will never beg you to believe them. Because they know they have the facts on their side.

Trump is incredibly worried about what the House Select Committee on Jan. 6 is going to uncover about his actions prior to and on that fateful day. If he wasn’t, he volunteer to sit down and give a deposition under oath.

The life of Donald Trump is based on a crumbling foundation of lies. One by one, those lies are about to come back to bite Donnie right on his fat ass.

Coronavirus Donald Trump Fox News WTF?!

Trump Tells Fox Business Host He Did A ‘Great Job’ Of Controlling COVID

Engaging in a massive rewrite of recent history, failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump said Tuesday morning during an interview with Fox Business host Stuart Varney that he and his administration had done a “great job” controlling the spread of the COVID-19 virus and “saved millions” of lives with their actions.

Varney began the interview by noting that states such as Florida are seeing a massive increase in hospitalizations and death after they removed safety precautions such as mask mandates. To that, Trump responded:

“We’ve got to open up. We’ve got to open up our country. Our country is artificially induced if you look at the money that’s being poured into our country through different things including the Fed, including deals that are being made in Congress where they have the majority so they’re able to pass things like that fake infrastructure deal.”

Of course, the country has been opened up for some time now. The last time it was fully shut down was when Trump was still in the White House.

Trump also claimed that “states that have been very open or more open have done better than the ones that are closed in terms of COVID itself.”

That’s not even a little bit true, with CNN reporting:

“As Covid-19 cases surge across the US, particularly among unvaccinated Americans, hospitals have been pushed to their limits treating the influx of patients — and five states are nearly out of ICU beds.

“Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Florida and Arkansas have less than 10% left of their ICU bed capacity, according to data from the Department of Health and Human Services.

And of course the failed ex-president couldn’t resist patting himself on the back, telling Varney:

“We did a great job on COVID, including the fact that I got a vaccine in less than nine months, which would have taken five years. But we did a great job.

“Without me, you wouldn’t have [the vaccine] for five years and you would have had millions of people throughout the world dead. You would have lost millions and millions of people.”

Fact-check: When Trump left office back in January, over 400,000 Americans had died as a result of the coronavirus. If that’s what he considers a “great job,” then clearly his brain has turned to mush.

Also, if Trump did such a wonderful job with COVID, why did the majority of voters vote against him? He was a failure and no matter how he tries to spin the facts, he’ll go down in history as one of the worst presidents in U.S. history.

Here’s the video of Trump’s interview with Varney:

Trump Probably Won’t Be Subpoenaed By Jan. 6 Committee Because He Lies Too Much: Report

The first subpoenas from the January 6 Select Committee could be issued as soon as next week, according to reports, and there’s already speculation about what names will be on those calls for testimony regarding what took place on that fateful day seven months ago.

But will failed, one-term former President Donald Trump be one of those who is issued a subpoena? He certainly knows many of the details that could help investigators better understand what transpired when thousands of his supporters stormed the Capitol, rioting and looting parts of the building, resulting in the deaths of five people.

Rep. Zoe Lofrgren (D-CA), a member of the select committee, was asked about the possibility of having Trump testify by CNN’s Jim Acosta on Sunday. She responded:

“Well, I don’t think it’s necessarily appropriate for the individual members of the committee to be identifying who is going to get a subpoena. I will say this that we intend to follow every lead so that we get a complete picture of what the intent was of the former president who organized these efforts, who funded these efforts as part of our investigation of the ramp-up to the January 6th riot, the insurrection.”

Acosta pressed further, wondering if it would be helpful to know what the president knew and when he knew it. Lofrgren told him:

“Well, maybe yes, maybe no. Certainly, we can find out a lot of information from those he spoke to. You have to balance, as you’re looking at calling witnesses, how difficult it is. How litigious they will be versus the information you’re likely to receive. I’ll say, I don’t think it’s a new piece of information that the former president has a veracity problem. The Washington Post and other news institutions used to tote up how many lies per day he would say. So, we’ve got to weigh that as a factor of how valuable his testimony would be.”

“In other words, he may lie so much that the testimony may be worthless.”

Lofgren agreed:

“Well, I just think it’s a balancing factor I’m sure he would litigate, and then we need to have a weighing of how truthful his testimony would be given his track record.”

Exactly so. Even if Trump were subpoenaed, he’d probably have his attorneys take the case all the way to the Supreme Court to keep him from having to testify under oath and risk committing perjury. And even if he did agree to show up, nothing he says can be believed, so what good would it do to give him a forum for his conspiracy theories and bullshit?

Even if Trump doesn’t wind up in front of the select committee, he’s going to be spending plenty of time under oath in courts across the country. If he wants to lie under oath, let him do it when the penalty is prison.

New Questions Arise About Trump’s Pledge To Donate His POTUS Salary To Charity

During his time in office, failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump absolutely loved to brag about how he was donating his $400,000 a year presidential salary to charity, with the White House announcing every few months where the money had gone.

But did Trump actually donate four years worth of salary? That’s the question being asked by Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post reporter David Fahrenthold, who says he’s been unable to determine where some of the money went:

“Donald Trump promised to give away his $400,000 presidential salary. And he kept that promise, publicly announcing each gift — at least, for his first 3½ years in office.

“Then, in the middle of last year, the announcements stopped.

“Trump’s White House never said where — or even if — he donated the last $220,000 of his salary, covering the final six months of 2020 and the first 20 days of 2021.

“Now, six months after he left office, it’s not clear where Trump donated that remaining salary — or if he donated it at all.”

Of course, it was established years ago that Trump is a lifelong grifter and pathological liar, so it wouldn’t exactly come as a surprise if he had pocketed some or all of the money he claims he gave away. After all, this is the same Trump who stole money from a charity that bore his name and later had to shut down that charity or be charged with criminal behavior by the Attorney General of New York.

Even though the Post contacted people working for Trump to inquire about if he had donated the last part of his salary for 2020, no one actually got back to the newspaper to confirm or deny those donations had been made.

As the old saying goes, Grifters are gonna grift, and that’s been the case with Donald Trump since he first entered the business world decades ago.
