Ted Cruz Just Tweeted That If Hillary Wins, There Will Be ‘Mandated Sex Change Operations’

If you needed any further proof that the entire Republican Party has lost its freaking mind and utterly jumped the shark, this should suffice: Ted Cruz sent out a tweet which linked to a column by Daniel Horowitz which ran in the Conservative Review with the title, “Why conservatives will need a new party if/when Hillary wins.” In that column, Horowitz asserts that should Hillary Clinton be elected President of the United States, the government will mandate sex change operations.

Horowitz also urges conservatives to create a new political party which would replace the GOP because the current Republican leadership in Congress is eager to compromise with Clinton on a whole host of issues:

“[Texas Sen. John Cornyn’s] biggest agenda item for a Hillary presidency is to grant her George Soros’s top policy agenda — jailbreak — which will help create a permanent Democrat majority.”

But then Horowitz gets downright bizarre in an Alex Jones conspiracy theory kinda way by writing:

“By that point, we will have mandated sex change operations. Heck, our own military during a time of war and internal morale crisis has already published a handbook on sex changes. We simply don’t have the time to continue down this failed path. We’ve already been in the wilderness for 27 years.”

And with that kind of fear mongering, you’ll be in the wilderness for another 200 or so years, David.

It should be noted that Cruz deleted the tweet just hours after he first posted it and now his office is claiming the tweet was not authorized by the Texas Senator:

Mandated sex change operations, huh? Oddly, I don’t recall any discussion of this issue at the two previous debates, nor has Clinton or Trump addressed the matter in any way whatsoever. That probably means they both recognize it as such a huge pile of unadulterated bullshit that it doesn’t warrant a response. And while Cruz may try to deny the posting is his work, keep in mind this is the very same Teddy Boy who said as recently as June of 2015 that there would be “mandatory” same-sex marriage should the Supreme Court rule in favor of marriage equality.

Just when you thought the GOP couldn’t get more bizarre, they prove they most certainly can.

WATCH: Unhinged O’Reilly Declares, Trans Rights Are A Move ‘To Wipe Out Gender’

The latest nonsense to bellow forth from the mouth of Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is that transgender equality–in the form of allow trans Americans to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with–is an assault on the rights of “traditional” families.

On his show last night, O’Reilly was discussing the issue with Kirsten Powers, and he began by declaring:

“Conservative, traditional, taking it easy, not trying to social-engineer sexuality until the child is emotionally ready, all of those things. Not the progressive agenda to wipe out gender, which is what we’re trying to do.”

In particular, O’Reilly said he was incensed by an editorial in the Charlotte Observer which criticized the recent passage of HB2 by the North Carolina legislature. That bill was later signed into law by GOP Governor Pat McCrory, and the Observer noted in their editorial:

“The thought of male genitalia in girls’ locker rooms – and vice versa – might be distressing to some. But the battle for equality has always been in part about overcoming discomfort – with blacks sharing facilities, with gays sharing marriage – then realizing that it was not nearly so awful as some people imagined.”

O’Reilly dismissed the editorial as “loony.” To that, Powers rightly commented:

“All I’m saying is I don’t think it should bother you. I don’t think [a trans person] is preying on your daughter. This person is not a pervert. There is nothing is wrong with this person.”

In his all too typical dismissive fashion, the clueless O’Reilly ended the discussion by saying:

“It’s not a matter of preying, it’s a matter of being appropriate.”

Appropriate? How is it appropriate to make someone use a bathroom which violates their very identity? And what does it matter where a person chooses to use the bathroom? We have real and important issues in this country–inequality, health care, infant mortality, hatred, division, racism, sexism, paying workers a living wage–and this is not one of those.

AT LAST! Alabama Chief Justice Suspended For Failing To Obey Ruling On Same-Sex Marriage

At long last, some justice has finally been served on the highest court official in the state of Alabama.

On Friday, the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, Roy Moore, was suspended by the Alabama Judicial Inquiry Commission, which also filed ethics charges against Moore. Moore will now be tried by the Alabama Court of the Judiciary, and he could be removed from the bench if he is found guilty of the charges against him.

Moore gained national attention when he refused to recognize the United States Supreme Court’s legalization of same-sex marriage in all 50 states in the Obergefell v. Hodges ruling last year. At that time, Moore said he would “not be bound” by the Supreme Court’s ruling legalizing marriage equality because he claimed the high court had changed the “organic law” of God. Moore has also recently remarked:

“The Judicial Inquiry Commission has no authority over the administrative orders of the chief justice of Alabama or the legal injunctions of the Alabama Supreme Court prohibiting probate judges from issuing same-sex marriage licenses. The Judicial Inquiry Commission has chosen to listen to people like Ambrosia Starling, a professed transvestite and other gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals, as well as organizations that support their agenda.”

Richard Cohen, president of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) had this to say after Moore was suspended on Friday:

“He’s such a religious zealot, such an egomaniac that he thinks he doesn’t have to follow federal court rulings he disagrees with. For the good of the state, he should be kicked out of office.”

The ultimate irony of this entire situation, of course, is that Moore, who took an oath to defend the Constitution, has instead chosen to obey his own bigotry and fanaticism. Such a person forfeits any right to serve as a judge on the actions of others.

WATCH: Lesbian Kicked Out Of Women’s Restroom Because She ‘Looks Like A Boy’

Legislators in states that have recently passed so-called “bathroom bills” claim their only concern is the safety of the public. They allege that sexual predators will try to gain access to the wrong public bathroom even though they have no proof of this happening. Trust us, they say. This is all in the interest of the public. Often they will even couch such legislation under the banner of protecting children.

Yet we come to a video like the one below and we see what really happens when such laws are enacted in real life. A video was recently uploaded to YouTube that clearly shows a lesbian being physically forced out of a restroom by police officers because they insist she looks like a boy. The woman tries several times to explain that she’s a female, but police don’t buy it. A male officer demands that she produce identification and prove that she is actually a girl. The woman says that she doesn’t have her ID with her, which leads the cop to demand, “Out” as he forces her to leave the bathroom.

It hasn’t yet been determined where this video was shot — might it have been Mississippi or North Carolina, where bathroom bills recently went into effect? — but one thing is clear: We are now living in a world where the police are being used to harass those who are trying to mind their own business and use the bathroom. It’s eerily reminiscent of the 1960s, when water cannons and attack dogs were used to pacify African-Americans in the South. Police were also known to arrest or harass blacks who dared to drink from the wrong water fountain, eat at the wrong lunch counter, or sit in the wrong section of a bus.

Some have suggested that LGBT rights are the civil rights issue of our day. It’s hard to argue with that when you watch the video of this woman being told she cannot even exercise her right as an American to use a public bathroom. Is that what we want to teach our children? Do we want to harass people simply because they’re different? And what are we willing to do to ensure no one else is ever treated in this way?

Wisconsin Now Has A State Supreme Court Justice Who Once Mocked ‘Queers’ Who Get AIDS

Last night in Wisconsin, as Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders were winning for their respective parties by double-digit margins, another person was also elected to serve on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Her name is Rebecca Bradley, and some of the things she has said in the past about LGBT residents of the state need to be exposed and examined.

Bradley, who will now hold a seat on the highest court in Wisconsin, while still a law student at Marquette University, had this to say about those trying to bring awareness to the issue of AIDS:

“Their misdirected compassion for the degenerates who basically commit suicide through their behavior.”

While she was at it, Bradley also speculated that it would be much better for someone to contract AIDS rather than cancer because:

“Those afflicted with the politically-correct disease will be getting all of the funding.”

She ended this same odious and insensitive column with this flourish of hate:

“How sad that the lives of degenerate drug addicts and queers are valued more than the innocent victims of more prevalent ailments.”

Bradley, it should be added, has also said that abortion is comparable to the Holocaust and slavery.

It will come as no surprise to hear that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker worked hard to make sure that Bradley won this election to the state Supreme Court. No doubt Walker, in all of his self-righteous Christian superiority, agrees wholeheartedly with Justice Bradley.

Bradley’s election comes at a time when public confidence in the Wisconsin supreme Court is not very high. Alicia Bannon, senior counsel in the Brennan Center’s Democracy Program, noted:

“Public confidence in Wisconsin’s Supreme Court has plummeted in recent years, and high-cost and politicized elections like this one are one of the big reasons why. When judges start looking like politicians in robes, the public may wonder if they can be trusted to decide cases fairly and impartially.”

And today, as Bradley takes her seat on the high court, yet another political hack has arrived to further destroy public regard for what should be an unassailable institution.
