Congress Coronavirus WTF?!

Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Horse Drug Ivermectin Won The ‘Nobel Peace Prize’ In Bizarre Rant

It’s been clear for some time now that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) isn’t very bright. Just about every single time she opens her mouth, Greene makes a horse’s ass of herself and proves that her understanding of most issues is superficial at best.

Green’s latest expression of gross stupidity comes as the congresswoman attacks Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden.

Appearing on “Real America’s Voice,” Greene began ranting that she didn’t understand why the anti-parasitic drug Ivermectin hasn’t been approved by the administration to treat COVID-19.

The reason, of course, is because Ivermectin has never been proven to be the least bit effective against coronavirus.

But according to Greene, Ivermectin is such a great drug that “it even won a Nobel Peace Prize.”

No. It didn’t.

In 2015, scientists William C. Campbell and Satoshi Omura were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for showing that Ivermectin is effective at treating infections caused by roundworm parasites.

But that wasn’t all of the idiocy Greene spewed. She also said this:

“It is deeply irresponsible for the Biden administration, the CDC, Dr. Fauci, and any of these doctors to be advising people to not prescribe it.”

Yes, and maybe after that they can urge people to inject disinfectant the way the brainless fool who was the 45th president suggested people do to cleanse their bodies of the virus.

Why in the hell do morons like Marjorie Taylor Greene have no problem urging people to take dangerous medications yet refuse to call for everyone to get something as simple as a vaccine? Their outrage over what could truly help this country defeat COVID is nothing more than a way for them to stir up hatred and fear. And all they’re accomplishing is sending more Americans to hospital ICUs and the grave.

Right-Wingers Want Rachel Maddow Booted From Twitter For Her Reporting On Ivermectin

Conservatives, Republicans, and right-wingers absolutely hate MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. Probably because she’s smart, strong, and counters their lies and conspiracy theories with facts and logic.

So it shouldn’t come as any surprise that many on the right are attacking Maddow for a report she did this week on the bogus COVID “cure,” ivermectin, which is sold as a deworming agent for cattle.

The report stated that a doctor in Oklahoma said rural hospitals in the state were seeing quite a few cases of ivermectin overdose. The story came from a local TV station in the Sooner State:

“A rural Oklahoma doctor said patients who are taking the horse de-wormer medication, ivermectin, to fight COVID-19 are causing emergency room and ambulance back ups.

“‘There’s a reason you have to have a doctor to get a prescription for this stuff because it can be dangerous,’ said Dr. Jason McElyea.”

That led a hospital system in Oklahoma to deny what Dr. McElyea claimed:

“Although Dr. Jason McElyea is not an employee of NHS Sequoyah, he is affiliated with a medical staffing group that provides coverage for our emergency room.

“With that said, Dr. McElyea has not worked at our Sallisaw location in over 2 months.

“NHS Sequoyah has not treated any patients due to complications related to taking ivermectin. This includes not treating any patients for ivermectin overdose.”

As you’d expect, the right-wing loons came out in droves, with a few of the more notable (some would say notorious) demanding that Maddow be punished for her report:

Ah, yes: Glenn Greenwald, who was once a darling of some of the left. More recently, however, he’s turned into a hack who makes frequent appearances on Fox News and usually sounds like little more than a Kremlin shill.

J.D. Vance, of course, is the author of Hillbilly Elegy who is now running to be the next Senator from Ohio and is just to the right of Atilla the Hun. He’s a pathetic excuse of a human being who deserves to lose in record fashion.

Seb Gorka? Really?! A man whose father was allegedly associated with a pro-Nazi group and has also espoused Nazi propaganda over the years. But he’s going to go after a journalist like Maddow?

Here’s the thing: Ivermectin has NEVER been approved as a treatment or cure for COVID-19. It’s a damn horse drug!

But the right-wingers are still bent out of shape that their overweight, failed, one-term former president, Donald Trump, has been banned from Twitter and now they want blood because Maddow dared to shed some light on the dangers of a phony coronavirus treatment that can indeed put you in the hospital.

Nice try, losers, but Rachel uses facts while all you’ve got are your tinfoil hats and lies.

Jake Tapper Shreds Rand Paul For Urging People To Use A Drug Meant For Cattle

Supposedly, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) is a doctor. An ophthalmologist, to be exact. And yet we can’t exactly verify that because Paul only has the accreditation of an agency that he created because he refused to submit his credentials for accreditation by an independent board.

But even if Paul is indeed a doctor, he’s certainly been providing some very questionable medical advice lately, suggesting that ivermectin, a drug used to deworm cattle, may have benefits for combating COVID-19.

Keep in mind Sen. Paul has no scientific evidence that ivermectin is beneficial when it comes to battling coronavirus, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says the drug should not be taken by humans under any circumstances:

“Ivermectin is not authorized or approved by FDA for prevention or treatment of COVID-19. The National Institutes of Health’s (NIH) COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel has also determined that there are currently insufficient data to recommend ivermectin for treatment of COVID-19. ClinicalTrials.gov has listings of ongoing clinical trials that might provide more information about these hypothesized uses in the future.

“Adverse effects associated with ivermectin misuse and overdose are increasing, as shown by a rise in calls to poison control centers reporting overdoses and more people experiencing adverse effects.”

And yet, Sen. Paul had this to say about ivermectin during an interview just last week:

“The hatred for Trump deranged these people so much, they’re unwilling to objectively study it. So someone like me that’s in the middle on it, I can’t tell you because they will not study ivermectin. They will not study hydroxychloroquine without the taint of their hatred for Donald Trump.”

But that’s complete BS. Paul’s hysterics are merely an attempt to curry favor with the extreme right-wing Trump contingency that appears to still have a stranglehold on the Republican Party.

One person who isn’t buying Paul’s crap parade is CNN anchor Jake Tapper, who called the Kentucky senator out on Twitter:

There is no great conspiracy to keep a COVID “cure” from the American public. There are, however, vaccines, masks, and social distancing, all of which have been shown to greatly reduce the spread of the deadly disease. Maybe “Dr.” Paul should be promoting those instead of pushing people to take drugs meant for horses.
