GOP Racism WTF?!

Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims The GOP Is Diverse Because It Includes ‘Yellow People’

According to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), there’s simply no way that Republicans can be bigoted or racist because the GOP contains “yellow people” in its ranks.

Speaking at “AmericaFest,” a conference sponsored by the right-wing youth group Turning Point USA, according to HuffPost, Greene began her remarks by noting that she’d “never been” to a conference for young conservatives, adding:

“When I walked in yesterday, I was like, what kind of people come here? So I’m walking around and seeing some good people, and I see white people, Black people, brown people, yellow people.

“And then there’s talk of freedom and loving America and conservative principles, some crazy people in here were talking about how much they love this guy named Jesus. And I heard — someone I really like — I think I heard that a lot of people here like a guy named Donald J. Trump.

“And then I said, ‘Oh, oh, I know exactly what this is. The left calls this a white supremacist party.'”

Yellow people? Really? The GOP must indeed be a white supremacist party based on the “yellow people” remark from Greene, because it’s a long-used racist trope that’s been around for centuries in the United States:

“Yellow” has long been a charged term to describe Asian people and is widely perceived as a slur. “Yellow Peril,” for example, was used as far back as the nineteenth century to vilify Asian people and cast Asian nations as a danger to Western values.

This rhetoric led to xenophobia and hate toward Asian immigrants, which flared again during the pandemic, due in part to other racist language like the terms “Kung Flu” and “China Virus” coined by former President Donald Trump.

Greene was taken to task on Twitter for her disgusting remarks, with former “Star Trek” star George Takei noting:

“I honestly haven’t heard someone use ‘yellow people, for decades. Perhaps she meant ‘yellow bellied people’ because there are certainly lots in that crowd.”

Sophie Zhang echoed Takei’s tweet:

“I’ve recently been called a ‘Chink’, a ‘Jap’, a ‘gook’, and more. Racists don’t excel at distinguishing ethnic background. But ‘yellow people’ is something that I haven’t heard in a decade or two.

“What is this, the 1960s?”

Greene and her ilk probably wish this was the 1960s so all non-white people had to drink from different water fountains and could be lynched on a whim without any legal repercussions. That’s what Trump Republicans call “the good old days.”

Congress Foreign Policy GOP Joe Biden Military WTF?!

Devin Nunes Attacks President Biden For Observing A Moment Of Silence For Our Fallen Troops

For some time now, it’s been very clear that Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) is a self-promoting sack of treasonous shit who will betray his own country in his demented loyalty to fellow traitors such as failed former President Donald Trump.

And yet, despite the many disgusting things Nunes and said and done since arriving in Congress, what he said Thursday — just hours after an attack on American troops in Kabul, Afghanistan — was a new level of crassness, even for him.

During an appearance on Newsmax, Nunes was asked about the terrorist attack which killed 13 U.S. service members by host Greg Kelly. Here’s what the congressman had to say:

“My guess is it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets any better. Let’s just hope and pray that — because that’s about what we’re down to now, are hopes and prayers.

“What you saw Biden do, that I’ve never seen a president do, a moment of silence with the press? I mean, what the hell is going on in this country?”

The moment Nunes was referring to is when President Joe Biden asked for a moment of silence for the lost service members:

Why would anyone have a problem with what the president did? If Trump had done that (and he never would have, because he’s the most immoral and irreligious man to ever be elected president) Nunes would have wet himself in delight and declared him the greatest American in history.

Nunes was slammed for his remarks:

Memo to Devin Nunes: Shut up, traitor.

Jim Jordan Gets Humiliated By Democratic Congressman During Hearing On Voting Rights

The setting was a meeting of the House Rules Committee, which Rep. Jim (Gym) Jordan (R-OH) serves on.

During a hearing on HR 4, which is the voting reform bill being advanced in the House of Representatives, Rep. Joseph Morelle (D-NY) called Jordan out for his repeated lies about Donald Trump supposedly winning the 2020 election, which of course he didn’t.

Crooks and Liars reports that Congressman Morelle began his remarks by chastising Republicans for some of the restrictive voting laws being passed in states such as Florida, Georgia, and Texas, all of which are controlled by the GOP. Morelle noted that these infringements on the right to vote are a “disgrace,” and then lit into Jordan:

“‘I also find it curiouser and curiouser that Mr. Jordan, you would use 2020 data on election participation when you wouldn’t even acknowledge the outcome of the same election,’ Morelle said.

“Earlier in the debate, Jordan claimed there was no need for Democratic bills on voting rights since the turnout of the 2020 election was so huge.”

Jordan could only respond:

“I have acknowledged.”

Morelle countered:

“Have you? Did Joe Biden win the election? There was no fraud. You’re prepared to say that?”

Jordan tried to duck the question by replying:

“He’s the President of the United States.”

The New York Democrat continued to press:

“That’s not what I asked you. Did he win the election? You said, he’s the President of the United States. That’s because we were here while the Capitol was being besieged by thousands of people intending to overturn — and stuck around to be able to confirm the results of the Electoral College. That’s why you acknowledge the president.”

Jordan had no comeback, only sitting and looking like the sore loser he and his orange master have always been and will always be.

Congress Crime Domestic Terrorism GOP WTF?!

Rep. Mo Brooks Says He Sympathizes With The Capitol Bomb Suspect

Once again today, the nation saw yet another example of domestic terrorism as a man identified by authorities as Floyd Ray Roseberry of North Carolina, parked a pickup truck near the U.S. Capitol and began live streaming a message on social media in which he ranted:

“I have no fear. None. That crack in my voice is from the passion for the land I love. Somebody needs to tell Joe Biden we here. Fucking revolution starts today, Joe Biden, and before you go crackin’ any pops on me you better get your military experts out and ask them what a seven-pound keg of gunpowder would do with two-and-a-half pounds of tannerite will do, motherfucker! You know what else? I’m not going to light it. I’m going to give Joe Biden the option to.”

And yet, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) wants the country to know that while he doesn’t condone what Roseberry did, the specter of “dictatorial Socialism” is driving people to take drastic actions:

Just in case Brooks decides to take his tweet down (or Twitter does it for him), here’s a screenshot of the congressman’s statement:

Brooks, of course, also had this to say at the January 6 rally that preceded the Capitol insurrection:

“Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass.”

The tweet and statement from Congressman Brooks was met with anger and disgust on social media:

It would be nice if House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy would come out and denounce what Brooks tweeted. He could also call for a censure vote to punish Brooks when Congress returns next month.

But of course we won’t hold our breath waiting for any Republican to do the right thing. They haven’t yet, so why would they start now?
