Federal Judge Questions Why Capitol Rioters Are Going To Jail While Trump Still Walks Free

A federal judge said Friday at a sentencing hearing for a Capitol rioter who participated in the storming of the building on Jan. 6 that he doesn’t understand why so many people are going to prison and yet failed, one-term former President Donald Trump hasn’t even been charged for inciting the horror that unfolded on that fateful day.

U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta was sentencing Capitol rioter John Lolos when he made his remarks, according to Zoe Tillman of Buzzfeed.

The judge noted that those who showed up on Jan. 6 and stormed the Capitol “were called to Washington, DC, by an elected official, prompted to walk to the Capitol by an elected official.

“People like Mr. Lolos were told lies and falsehoods and told that an election was stolen when it clearly was not. Regrettably, people like Mr. Lolos for whatever reason are impressionable and will believe such falsehoods and such lies… And they are the ones who are suffering the consequences.”

Judge Mehta went on to say that those are were behind the “Stop the Steal” rally which ended with rioting “in no meaningful sense of the word have been held to account.”

Turning to Lolos, Mehta remarked:

“You are a pawn in a game that’s played and directed by people who should know better.”

Here’s the full Twitter thread from Tillman’s reporting on today’s court hearing:

Of course, Judge Mehta is absolutely correct. Trump and others (Steve Bannon, Roger Stone, etc.) should all be charged with criminal offenses if the evidence supports them being prosecuted. And if they’re found guilty, they should have to serve prison time for inciting the crowds who did so much damage on that dark January day.

Bannon Has Impotent On-Air Meltdown A Day After Being Booked On Criminal Charges

Former Trump administration official Steve Bannon is BIG mad, so he’s making all sorts of absurd accusations and suggesting that he’ll have his revenge though it remains unclear how he intends to do much of anything if he’s put on trial, found guilty, and send to federal prison for up to two years for contempt of Congress.

A day after he had to surrender to the FBI, be fingerprinted, photographed, and treated like what he is — a common criminal — Bannon was back on his “War Room: Pandemic” podcast spinning new conspiracy theories and making the case against him even stronger with ever word he spews.

After showing video clips from the 1979 Francis Ford Coppola film “Apocalypse Now,” Bannon began ranting:

“MAGA is punching back. OK? We’re not going to sit here and just take it anymore. After months and months and months and months of just their rhetoric and trying to weaponize the law and weaponize DOJ, we’re not going to take it. We’re going on offense.”

Weaponize the DOJ? That’s what failed, one-term, twice-impeached ex-President Donald Trump did. Bannon is engaging in classic psychological projection and isn’t even smart enough to realize it.

Bannon also claimed that President Joe Biden’s meeting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping was a “surrender” to the Chinese Communist Party:

“Their whole family is compromised by [China’s] money. There will be a massive investigation as soon as we take back the House.

“They know they’re going to be in the minority! We’re going to rub their noses publicly in the malfeasance that their lives are. OK?”

Notice how Bannon failed to mention that Trump is compromised by Russian and Saudi money? He doesn’t want to upset the countries that own and control his lord and savior. And his prediction that Republicans will win control of the House is also premature. The 2022 midterm elections are a year away, and there’s no telling how many Republicans will have been indicted by then for their role in the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

Later in his podcast/clown show, Bannon raised his voice as he declared:

“This is the war that they’ve brought to us!

“We’re going to fight it every day and we don’t care what [Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA)], we don’t care what the Marxist — from his Marxist traitor father — little Jamie Raskin (D-MD) and the Farrakhan mouthpiece [Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS).”

Hey, Steve, but it’s kinda hard to “fight” when you’re trying to stay out of lockup.

Here’s the video of Bannon’s hissy fit:

Court Filing Lists The Incriminating Documents Trump Wants To Keep Hidden From The Jan. 6 Committee

If you were wondering why failed, one-term, twice-impeached former President Donald Trump is trying so desperately to keep some of his former White House records hidden from the House Select Committee on the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection, a court filing has shed new light on exactly what Trump fears may be shared with congressional investigators.

USA Today reports Trump has claimed executive privilege over 39 pages of the 136 pages that were set to be released last Friday by the National Archives before a federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. put a temporary hold on those documents:

These records all relate to the events on or about January 6, and may assist the Select Committee’s investigation into that day, including what was occurring at the White House immediately before, during and after the January 6 attack.

An even closer look at the specifics of what Trump wants to keep from the committee suggests that the former president is terrified of his own personal liability in regard to the insurrection which left five people dead earlier this year:

Of the 763 pages in which Trump asserted privilege, 629 are talking points prepared for the press secretary and 43 include presidential schedules, appointments, activity logs, call logs, among other documents, according to the filing from the National Archives. The National Archives identified nearly 1,600 pages of records that fit the committee’s request, with thousands more yet to be reviewed, according to the agency. Trump sought to keep nearly half the pages confidential, but the Justice Department replied that they are crucial to the investigation.

The Select Committee has asked for any and all records (including but not limited to calendar entries, photographs, and videos) that are connected to the effort to delay certification of the electoral vote on Jan. 6, when Congress was meeting in joint session to name Joe Biden 46th President of the United States in accord with the process laid out in the U.S. Constitution.

Though Trump and his allies have repeatedly asserted they weren’t involved in the violence which took place on Jan. 6, their repeated efforts to keep records hidden and refusal to obey congressional subpoenas suggest there are ulterior motives that go far beyond defending the principle of executive privilege, which only applies to sitting officials, not former office holders.

The D.C. Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments on whether or not to release the documents to the Select Committee on Nov. 30 and a ruling is expected shortly after those are completed.

Trump Claims Threats To ‘Hang Mike Pence’ Were OK Because ‘People Were Very Angry’

Chants and threats to “hang Mike Pence” by insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6 were no big deal, according to failed former President Donald Trump because “people were very angry.”

In an interview with Jonathan Karl of ABC News, the one-term, twice-impeached Trump said he was certain Pence was safe as thousands of pro-Trump supporters rioted and forced their way into Congress on the day that the 2020 presidential election was being certified.

Karl asked Trump:

Were you worried about (Pence) during that siege? Were you worried about his safety?”

Trump responded:

“No, I thought he was well-protected, and I had heard that he was in good shape. No. Because I had heard he was in very good shape. But, but, no, I think —”

That led Karl to interject:

“Because you heard those chants — that was terrible. I mean — “

Trump:

“He could have — well, the people were very angry.”

And then Trump began to further rationalize how close Pence came to being killed:

“Because it’s common sense, Jon. It’s common sense that you’re supposed to protect. How can you — if you know a vote is fraudulent, right? — how can you pass on a fraudulent vote to Congress? How can you do that? And I’m telling you: 50/50, it’s right down the middle for the top constitutional scholars when I speak to them. Anybody I spoke to — almost all of them at least pretty much agree, and some very much agree with me — because he’s passing on a vote that he knows is fraudulent. How can you pass a vote that you know is fraudulent? Now, when I spoke to him, I really talked about all of the fraudulent things that happened during the election. I didn’t talk about the main point, which is the legislatures did not approve — five states. The legislatures did not approve all of those changes that made the difference between a very easy win for me in the states, or a loss that was very close, because the losses were all very close.”

In other words, because Trump lost to President Joe Biden, Pence was expendable, little more than a pawn in the larger plan for a coup that the ex-president and his allies put in place shortly after it became clear that Biden had won by a landslide.

If the House Select Committee was looking for a smoking gun which proves Donald Trump’s culpability for what took place on Jan. 6, they don’t have to look any further than his remarks to Jon Karl.

Trump Is Losing His Favorite Golf Course Due To His Disgusting Actions On January 6

A couple of days after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol which left five people — including a member of the Capitol Police Department — dead, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio made it clear that failed, one-term former President Donald Trump would indeed be paying a price for the role he played in the horror that took place on that terrible day, announcing:

“The City of New York will not be associated with those unforgivable acts in any shape, way or form.”

With that, the mayor terminated the Trump Organization’s licensing deal for Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point Park in the Bronx.

Trump and his company sued to reinstate the deal, which expires on Sunday, but it seems almost certain that a judge will soon rule New York City acted well within its rights, making the golf course “another likely casualty to stem from former President Donald Trump’s actions on January 6 before rioters stormed the US Capitol,” according to CNN.

“The case highlights how Trump’s activities during the final days of his presidency continue to haunt him as he navigates numerous criminal investigations and business challenges linked to the Capitol riot. The fight over the golf course is one of the latest examples of Trump’s political rhetoric clashing with his business interests.”

The Trump Organization has operated the golf course at Ferry Point Park since 2012, and it has done extremely well financially, pulling in over $8 million in revenue during the first 10 months of 2021. Making the course especially valuable is the fact that it was designed by golfing legend Jack Nicklaus.

New York City would appear to have the PGA’s approval when it comes to stripping the course from Trump’s control, as there’s a clause which allows the PGA to cancel any event or association that might prove “detrimental” to its brand.

Since the course was taken from Trump, Bobby Jones Links was awarded the bid to take over the property and run it with the blessings of both the city and the PGA, with Whitney Crouse, a founding partner of the new leasing agency, noting that he understands Trump may try to go after his company once they take control of the Ferry Point Park course, but he isn’t worried:

“We’ve thought long and hard about that. I’m sure something will be said, and it will be in the press, and it will be controversial but six months from now or next year when golf season begins, golfers will have forgotten the issue.

“The world will move on as it has with other things with Mr. Trump.”

The world will move on and karma will continue to kick the twice-impeached former president right in his fat ass.
