Congress GOP Whining

Spokesperson For Liz Cheney Burns Matt Gaetz To The Ground By Accusing Him Of Wearing Make-Up

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is angry with the third-highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives, Rep. Liz Cheney (WY), but his efforts to get Cheney booted from GOP leadership wound up backfiring badly on him Monday.

Gaetz announced on Sunday that he was planning to attend a rally in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Monday evening at which he would again call for Cheney to resign her leadership post or be removed.

Cheney has drawn the ire of Gaetz for daring to criticize former President Donald Trump’s calls for protesters to march on the Capitol on January 6, with the Wyoming Republican remarking:

“All of us have an obligation to the Constitution and an obligation to do what we believe is right, what our oath compels us to do, that is above politics, above partisanship. That is, I think, very important, and it’s incumbent on all of us. We came to different decisions within our conference about that issue.”

All of that led to a spokesperson for Cheney completely destroying Gaetz by suggesting he wears make-up and won’t be welcome in Wyoming, according to The Hill:

“A spokesperson for Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) shot back at Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) for his criticisms of the congresswoman on Sunday, saying he should ‘leave his beauty bag at home. In Wyoming, the men don’t wear make-up.’

“The spokesperson was responding to Gaetz’s plans to be at a rally in Cheyenne, Wyo., where he will reportedly urge Cheney to step down due to her decision to vote in favor of impeaching former President Trump.

“Cheney’s spokesperson was likely referring to a scene in the HBO documentary ‘The Swamp’ in which Gaetz is seen getting ready for the day, part of which involves applying makeup before he appears on television.”

Ouch! That burn is going to leave one hell of a mark on Matty, who announced in June of 2020 that he had adopted a “son,” even though few were buying that he and the boy he calls Nestor are merely father and son:

Before he picks a fight with Liz Cheney again, Gaetz had better consider that even her spokesperson had no trouble making him look like the obnoxious horse’s ass he is.
