Conservatives, Republicans, and right-wingers absolutely hate MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. Probably because she’s smart, strong, and counters their lies and conspiracy theories with facts and logic.
So it shouldn’t come as any surprise that many on the right are attacking Maddow for a report she did this week on the bogus COVID “cure,” ivermectin, which is sold as a deworming agent for cattle.
The report stated that a doctor in Oklahoma said rural hospitals in the state were seeing quite a few cases of ivermectin overdose. The story came from a local TV station in the Sooner State:
“A rural Oklahoma doctor said patients who are taking the horse de-wormer medication, ivermectin, to fight COVID-19 are causing emergency room and ambulance back ups.
“‘There’s a reason you have to have a doctor to get a prescription for this stuff because it can be dangerous,’ said Dr. Jason McElyea.”
That led a hospital system in Oklahoma to deny what Dr. McElyea claimed:
“Although Dr. Jason McElyea is not an employee of NHS Sequoyah, he is affiliated with a medical staffing group that provides coverage for our emergency room.
“With that said, Dr. McElyea has not worked at our Sallisaw location in over 2 months.
“NHS Sequoyah has not treated any patients due to complications related to taking ivermectin. This includes not treating any patients for ivermectin overdose.”
As you’d expect, the right-wing loons came out in droves, with a few of the more notable (some would say notorious) demanding that Maddow be punished for her report:
Ah, yes: Glenn Greenwald, who was once a darling of some of the left. More recently, however, he’s turned into a hack who makes frequent appearances on Fox News and usually sounds like little more than a Kremlin shill.
J.D. Vance, of course, is the author of Hillbilly Elegy who is now running to be the next Senator from Ohio and is just to the right of Atilla the Hun. He’s a pathetic excuse of a human being who deserves to lose in record fashion.
Seb Gorka? Really?! A man whose father was allegedly associated with a pro-Nazi group and has also espoused Nazi propaganda over the years. But he’s going to go after a journalist like Maddow?
Here’s the thing: Ivermectin has NEVER been approved as a treatment or cure for COVID-19. It’s a damn horse drug!
But the right-wingers are still bent out of shape that their overweight, failed, one-term former president, Donald Trump, has been banned from Twitter and now they want blood because Maddow dared to shed some light on the dangers of a phony coronavirus treatment that can indeed put you in the hospital.
Nice try, losers, but Rachel uses facts while all you’ve got are your tinfoil hats and lies.
