Congress GOP Sedition WTF?!

Republican Appointed To Jan. 6 Commission Says Nancy Pelosi Is Responsible For Capitol Riots

On Monday, Andrew Solender of Forbes reported that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has decided on five men he plans to put forth for appointment to the House Select Committee that will investigate the January 6 riots and insurrection that took place at the U.S. Capitol:

Politico later confirmed those five names, suggesting that they are indeed the picks to serve on the select committee.

It should be noted that three of those on the list — Banks, Jordan, and Nehls — voted to overturn the results of the Electoral College shortly before the Capitol was attacked.

Banks would be the ranking Republican if he’s approved by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Pelosi has veto power over any appointment.

While you may not have heard of Banks, he wasted no time making it clear that he doesn’t deserve a seat on the committee, insisting in a statement he released that Pelosi was to blame for what transpired on Jan. 6. It reads in part:

“We need leaders who will force the Democrats and the media to answer questions so far ignored. Among them, why was the Capitol unprepared and vulnerable to attack on January 6?”

Yes, Banks says he’ll agree to serve on the committee, but it’s quite obvious from his statement that he’s already made up his mind and intends to blame everyone except those responsible.

That set off a great deal of debate on Twitter:

All five of McCarthy’s choices are unacceptable. Here’s hoping Speaker Pelosi will reject every damn one of them.
