Rand Paul’s Sarcastic Version Of ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ Gets Him Mocked Online

Though you’d never get him to admit it publicly, deep down inside Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) knows he’s a joke and that almost no one takes him seriously. After all, this is the same clown who has repeatedly attacked a man as accomplished and brilliant as Dr. Anthony Fauci out of what can only be jealousy. Fauci is a respected doctor. Paul, on the other hand, is supposedly an eye doctor, though anyone who would go to him for an exam has bigger problems than just astigmatism.

And now the Kentucky Republican is again making a complete fool of himself by posting a sarcastic version of the holiday classic “Twas the Night Before Christmas” in an attempt to criticize the omnibus spending bill making its way through Congress that will keep the government funded for another year.

Paul’s version is entitled, “Twas the Week Before Christmas” and features the following verses:

“‘Twas the week before Christmas, and through the Senate and House, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The senators were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of pork danced in their heads.

“When what to my wondering eyes should appear? But a 4,000-page omni with endless debt year after year.”

Enjoy? How in the hell can we enjoy when we’re busy hunching over the nearest commode and heaving our dinner into the bowl?

Some things should never ever be messed with. “Twas the Night Before Christmas” is one of them. We didn’t need a Rand Paul version of the classic, especially one that attempts to convey a snarky (and poorly worded) political message.

Twitter users were also not amused or entertained, and they were eager to let Sen. Paul know it.
