Trump Becomes Presumptive Nominee; Warren Opens Up Giant Can Of Whoop A*s On Him

With his victory in the Indiana GOP primary last night, Donald Trump is now the presumptive Republican nominee. His nearest competitor, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, suspended his campaign, and Ohio Governor John Kasich is so far behind that his chances of challenging Trump are slim to none.

Not long after the results were announced last night, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren went on Facebook and decided to express her feelings regarding the Donald. Here’s what Warren posted:

“Donald Trump is now the leader of the Republican Party. It’s real – he is one step away from the White House. Here’s what else is real:

“Trump has built his campaign on racism, sexism, and xenophobia. There’s more enthusiasm for him among leaders of the KKK than leaders of the political party he now controls.

“He incites supporters to violence, praises Putin, and, according to a columnist who recently interviewed him, is “cool with being called an authoritarian” and doesn’t mind associations with history’s worst dictators.

“He attacks veterans like John McCain who were captured and puts our servicemembers at risk by cheerleading illegal torture. In a world with ISIS militants and leaders like North Korean strongman Kim Jong-Un conducting nuclear tests, he surrounds himself with a foreign policy team that has been called a “collection of charlatans,” and puts out contradictory and nonsensical national security ideas one expert recently called “incoherent” and “truly bizarre.”

“What happens next will test the character for all of us – Republican, Democrat, and Independent. It will determine whether we move forward as one nation or splinter at the hands of one man’s narcissism and divisiveness. I know which side I’m on, and I’m going to fight my heart out to make sure Donald Trump’s toxic stew of hatred and insecurity never reaches the White House.”

When I read that, I wanted to give Senator Warren a standing ovation. She also took to Twitter and let the Donald have it there, too:

No matter what role she winds up playing in the 2016 race, Trump will be trying to dodge incoming fire from Warren until Election Day.

DERP! Heidi Cruz Just Said Her Husband Ted ‘Is An Immigrant’ (Video)

Not long ago, Ted Cruz found himself having to defend his wife, Heidi, against attacks from Donald Trump. Trump was responding to an ad run by a Super PAC supporting Cruz which showed Trump’s wife, Melania, in a scantily clad photo shoot she did years ago with the tagline, “Meet Melania Trump–Your Next First Lady.” The GOP race had descended into an ugly new depth at that point, with spouses suddenly becoming fair game as fodder for the candidates and their supporters.

Now we have Heidi Cruz attempting to somehow resurrect her husband’s campaign as the state of Indiana votes today in what could well wind up being the last gasp for the Cruz campaign, despite the candidate saying that he’s in the Republican race to the bitter end. Bitter is an appropriate word for Cruz, as his wife told a group of potential voters in the Hoosier State:

“Do you know that Ted has been winning the millennial vote in state after state. He’s been winning the women’s vote in state after state. Ted is an immigrant. He is Hispanic. We can unify this party.

Cruz is an immigrant? Holy cow! Doesn’t that play right into what Trump has said all along about Cruz not being eligible to run for the White House because he was born in Canada? The Cruz camp immediately attempted to walk (try run) back Heidi Cruz’s remarks, telling the media that what Mrs. Cruz meant to say is that her husband’s father is an immigrant from Cuba, a point Ted Cruz often makes when he’s asked how he plans to win the votes of Latinos come November.

But as you might expect, Trump was already in full-on attack mode, telling supporters at a rally:

“Heidi Cruz — nice woman. She said this one: ‘My husband’s an immigrant!’ He’s an immigrant! That’s what I’ve been trying to say!”

Trump was far from finished, driving the knife fully into Cruz with this line:

“She was maybe trying to put a Latin turn on it. He was born in Canada, folks!”

Later this evening, as the results roll in from Indiana, the turn could well wind up being the one that leads to the train bearing down on what’s left of Ted Cruz’s chances at the nomination.

Here’s the video that will haunt the Cruz family for a long time:

Sanders Says He Can Still Win The Nomination–He Can’t–And Here’s Why

In recent days, we’ve heard a lot from Bernie Sanders and his surrogates about how he can still win the Democratic nomination even though he’s behind in pledged delegates, behind in superdelegates, and the primary calendar is quickly winding down.

Just last week, speaking to the National Press Club, Sanders laid out his strategy for winning the nomination, and it goes like this: If he fares well in the upcoming primaries, Sanders says he can greatly narrow the gap in pledged delegates with Hillary Clinton. That way, neither of them would have the necessary numbers to win the nomination outright without the weight of the so-called superdelegates. At that point, Sanders would go to the superdelegates and  encourage them to back him on the basis that he would be a much stronger candidate in the fall election.

Sanders also said this on Sunday:

“If I win a state with 70 percent of the votes, you know what? I think I’m entitled to those superdelegates.”

Entitled? Sorry, Senator, but that’s not how it works. Also, it should be noted that Sanders has complained about the very concept of superdelegates from the beginning of the race when Clinton began racking up hundreds of them. Yet now Sanders wants to claim those same superdelegates as his own if he wins enough votes in a state.

Additionally, Sanders is only a recent convert to the Democratic Party. A lifelong Independent, Sanders now comes along and wants to complain about rules that have been in place for years in a party he semi-joined so he could seek the banner of an established political party.

Now before you start accusing me of being in the bag for Hillary Clinton, you should know these pertinent facts: I voted for Sanders in the Georgia Democratic primary and have donated to his campaign on five occasions. I love his message and what he stands for, but it’s time for him to bow out gracefully so the party can be unified for the upcoming fight against Donald Trump. Trump is now using Sanders’ attacks on Clinton for his own purposes, and  this is dangerous to Democratic chances in November.

There is no path for Sanders to win the Democratic nomination. None. It will not happen. Now is the time for Sanders to dial back the attacks and step aside so the general election effort may begin. We should thank Sanders for what he has brought to this race, but we should also let him know it’s time for the pipe dream to end.

Anti-LGBT Hate Group Caught Sending Spies Into Target Bathroom To Stir Up Hatred Against Transgender Americans

As if it’s not bad enough that those opposed to equality for all have been able to get state legislatures in Mississippi and North Carolina to pass so-called “bathroom bills” which allow for lawful, state-sanctioned discrimination against the LGBT community, now we have some groups and activists admitting they are deliberately trying to frighten the public so people will turn against those who are perceived as being different.

You may recall that Target recently announced they would allow their customers to use whatever restroom they feel is most appropriate and most comfortable for them. This outraged right-wingers and Republicans across the country who accused Target of  condoning alternate lifestyles. Some even called for a national boycott of Target.

And now we have Sandy Rios of the American Family Association–which has been designated as a hate group–admitting in a radio interview that her organization is now sending men into women’s bathrooms at Target stores so they can get a negative reaction which will lead to a change in Target’s policy. Rios commented during an interview with “Brietbart News Daily:”

‘I think there’s no question that when you say that there are no barriers in the bathroom, and that if men or women feel like they are men or women, the opposition of however they are equipped, and you have no restrictions, the net effect will be that people will not be stopped. We’ve already had people testing this, going into Targets and men trying to go into bathrooms. There is absolutely no barrier.

‘And so the chief concern, even more than just, I think, trauma, certainly for little girls of having men dressed like women coming in their bathrooms, the chief concern of the American Family Association is the predators who will take advantage.’

So now we have people from a right-wing religious group storming into the bathroom of the opposite sex in order to prove some narrow-minded point they believe affirms their contention that transgender Americans are only trying to get a free peek at someone else. What this neglects to take into consideration is that the transgendered are actually trying to use the facilities, whereas the designated peeks from the American Family Association are only doing so to sow seeds of fear and loathing in the hope this will turn the tide in their favor.

Here’s a report on how this is all playing out across the United States:
