New Poll Shows Majority Of Female Voters Detest Trump And Will NEVER Vote For Him

We’re all familiar with the term “gender gap” as it applies to elections, but with Donald Trump as the nominee for the Republicans in 2016, we may be forced to amend that term and coin a new one: a gender chasm.

The latest CBS News/New York Times poll shows that sixty percent of women polled had an unfavorable impression of Trump. Only 21 percent view him favorably. This could well set up a scenario which will deliver the general election to Hillary Clinton in November.

Among all voters in the CBS/Times poll, Clinton held a six-point lead, 47 to 41 percent.

But it should be noted that both Clinton and Trump remain underwater when it comes to their individual favorability ratings. Trump’s unfavorable rating stand at 55 percent and favorable rating of only 26 percent. Clinton’s unfavorable rating is 52 percent and her favorable rating 31 percent. Only Democratic contender Bernie Sanders was in positive territory: 41 percent favorable and 33 percent unfavorable.

As for the trustworthy argument, 64 percent said both Clinton and Trump cannot be trusted.

Who will best unify their party? The CBS/Times poll shows that 67 percent of those polled say Clinton will be able to unify the Democratic Party in the months ahead. Only 32 percent believe Trump can unify the GOP.

This new data would seem to suggest that a gender gap of historic proportions may be seen in November. The gender gap in 2008 when Obama defeated McCain had women preferring the Democrat by 7 points. That gap rose to 10 percent when Obama was reelected in 2012. But it’s estimated the gap could rise to as high as 17-20 points with the nomination of the first woman to head a major party’s ticket.

One thing appears certain from poll after poll: Anywhere from 60-75 percent of women despise Donald Trump, and he has done little so far to change their minds. They say first impressions are the most important, and if that is indeed the case, Trump has already lost the election.
