Since he took the oath of office last Friday, Donald Trump has mainly been consumed with two issues which have absolutely nothing to do with his duties as head of state:
- The size of the crowd at his inauguration.
- Alleged voter fraud which caused him to lose the popular vote by 3 million ballots.
Now, even though he’s been in office less than a week, investigative reporter Carl Bernstein says some members of the GOP have started to question if perhaps Trump is indeed losing his mind.
Appearing on CNN, Bernstein remarked:
“It is unlike anything that I have seen in 50 years of being a reporter. I am hearing from Republicans, and other reporters are as well, that there is open discussion by members of the President of the United States’ own party about his emotional maturity, stability.”
How these Republicans managed to miss Trump’s total lack of maturity and stability during the primaries and general election is a question for the ages, but Bernstein also had this to say:
“People are saying his psyche is driving the news cycle. We are in uncharted territory.”
Ever since Trump first announced his candidacy back in 2016, there has been endless discussion about how completely inept and unprepared this man-child is to lead anything more complex than a one-man parade down a deserted street. Millions of words have been written documenting the way Trump treats contractors and those he disagrees with. In each case, we see that he continually dances on a razor’s edge of sentience and insanity. He holds grudges, thinks the world revolves around him, and has bragged that he gets off on sexually assaulting women.
So Republicans are finally waking up and understanding how dangerous Donald Trump is? Where in the hell have they been for the past year and a half? Apparently they were willing to overlook the bad in the interest of having a dupe who will sign whatever draconian legislation they send him.
Meanwhile, the rest of us have to suffer from this man’s mental instability. Thanks a lot, Republicans!
