It’s been awhile since we heard from Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA). He’s no longer chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and has next to no power whatsoever in the current House, which is now controlled by Democrats.
But despite Nunes being quiet and having to accept that he cannot protect Donald Trump the way tried to for two years, Special Counsel Robert Mueller hasn’t forgotten about Nunes and his many traitorous acts.
A new report from The Daily Beast lays out how Mueller and prosecutors in Manhattan are looking closely at a breakfast meeting Nunes attended, along with the disgraced former National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn. Also at the meeting were dozens of foreign officials who were looking for U.S. government officials who could do favors for them:
“The Special Counsel’s Office is also looking at the breakfast as part of its investigation into whether foreigners contributed money to the Trump inaugural fund and PAC by possibly using American intermediaries, as first reported by The New York Times. Robert Mueller’s team has asked Flynn about the event, according to two sources familiar with the Special Counsel’s Office questioning.”
We know Flynn was at the meeting thanks to this tweet from the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs:
Met w/General Flynn, who will assume the position of National Security Advisor, and other officials at a working breakfast in Washington D.C.

That’s one tweet that certainly didn’t age very well.
Countries who sent representatives to the breakfast included Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Japan, and Angola.
Former federal prosecutor Paul Pelletier had this to say about the power breakfast that Nunes attended with Flynn:
“If you’re a prosecutor, all of the right players are there. In a lot of ways breakfasts like this are totally normal. It happens all the time in Washington. So, they wouldn’t be investigating it if they weren’t following the money. The big question would be who is paying for it? It’s got to be part of the broader scheme of who is trying to use money to influence the White House.”
Robert Mueller is following the money. He has been from the start of his investigation. And that money trail likely ends with an indictment that has the name of Devin Nunes on it.
See what all that kissing up to Trump got Devin Nunes? A big fat legal problem he can’t make go away with his lies or the protection of the president he so stupidly defended.
