Michelle Obama Takes A Subtle Dig At Trump During Unveiling Of Her White House Portrait

At the White House today, former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama were the guests of honor as their official portraits were unveiled, which was supposed to happen when failed, one-term, twice-impeached ex-president Donald Trump was still in office.

When it was time for Mrs. Obama to speak, what she said certainly seemed aimed in part at Trump, who continues to insist that he won the 2020 election and should be reinstalled as president despite not having presented a shred of evidence to prove the last election was anything by free and fair.

“Traditions like this matter. Not just for those of us who hold these positions, but for everyone participating in and watching our democracy. You see, the people make their voices heard with their vote. We hold an inauguration to ensure a peaceful transition of power.

“Those of us lucky enough to serve work as hard as we can, for as long as we can, as long as the people choose to keep us here, and once our time is up, we move on.”
