MSNBC host Michael Steele ripped into Twitter CEO Elon Musk this morning on the network, saying he’s sick and tired of Musk telling Trump what to think and say on every issue, especially since he wasn’t elected to any office.
During a discussion of the ongoing right-wing civil war over allowing more foreign workers into the United States to meet the increasing demand for qualified engineers in the high-tech job sector, Steele noted, “You’ve got Vivek [Ramaswamy] and Elon sitting here talking about how lazy white men are, just to break this down because that is what they said, that is why everybody got upset.”
“Elon may want to go to war on an issue like this but he’s going to war against a base that does not want Vivek Ramaswamy here, even though he’s a citizen,” Steele added.
“Elon Musk is not hiring Donald Trump’s base to come work at SpaceX. Can we be clear about that? He’s not hiring that base to come work at Google or whatever company he buys next,” he continued. “This is the way it is, or am I missing something because that is what I’m reading in that long screed, as my friend Symone [Sanders Townsend] called it yesterday, was laid out by Vivek very clearly stating, and now emphasized by Elon himself, talking about take a big step back and F yourself in the face?”
“Who the hell is this man?”
Of course, the biggest problem is that Elon Musk dumped over $250 million into Trump’s campaign and thinks it gives him the right to be co-president even though no one has cast a single ballot for him.
Even worse is that until we get corporate and big donor money completely out of our political system, this problem is only going to get worse. That means our votes will increasingly have even less value and our voices won’t be heard by those who are supposed to represent us.
