Mexican President Outfoxes Trump With Tariff ‘Trick’ That Leaves Donald Looking Clueless

According to Moron-in-Chief Donald Trump, trade tariffs on products from Mexico have been delayed by one month after he spoke with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

“Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday that her country had reached a series of agreements with President Donald Trump and that tariffs will be put on hold for one month, starting now,” Politico reported.

“Trump, in a post on Truth Social, confirmed the one-month delay, which he said he granted the country after it agreed to send 10,000 soldiers to the U.S.-Mexico border. A White House official confirmed the one-month extension only applies to Mexico, not Canada or China, which Trump also slapped with tariffs over the weekend.”

“I just spoke with President Claudia Sheinbaum of Mexico,” Trump wrote. “It was a very friendly conversation wherein she agreed to immediately supply 10,000 Mexican Soldiers on the Border separating Mexico and the United States. These soldiers will be specifically designated to stop the flow of fentanyl, and illegal migrants into our Country. We further agreed to immediately pause the anticipated tariffs for a one month period during which we will have negotiations headed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent, and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and high-level Representatives of Mexico. I look forward to participating in those negotiations, with President Sheinbaum, as we attempt to achieve a ‘deal’ between our two Countries.”

However, it appears that Trump got outplayed by the Mexican president because Mexico had already agreed to send 15,000 troops to the border. So why is he boasting that 10,000 Mexican forces will be provided? Sheinbaum outfoxed Donnie and his infamous lack of understanding has led to yet another public humiliation for him.

Laughter and mockery ensued on social media.

“Mexico has made similar agreements without the threat of tariffs,” Sam Stein, of The Bulwark noted “Here in 2021 they agreed to surge the same number of troops to help with migration. Here in 2022 they agreed to invest an additional $1.5b. Here in 2023 were 15 administrative actions.”
