As he faces the very real possibility that he will be formally indicted, fingerprinted, photographed, and processed next week in Manhattan for violating New York election law, failed one-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump is probably wondering which of his family and friends will abandon him first.
According to a former chief of staff to Melania Trump, Stephanie Grisham, the former first lady is, she suspects, keeping her distance from Donald.
Grisham, who briefly served as White House press secretary in the Trump administration, was a guest on MSNBC and noted that Melania has a history of staying away from her husband’s many legal problems and will likely do so this time, too.
Asked about the former president’s prediction that he will be indicted next Tuesday, Grisham replied, “This morning when the news kind of started to hit, I have to say, she is the first person I thought of and, of course, their young son who is a minor. And I just, thought there is still this family there that will also be affected in these are people I felt close to at one point.”
Grisham continued:
