Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Irony Rich Post About ‘Candidate Quality’ Gets Her Lit Up On Twitter

Georgia Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene thinks she knows why her party failed to win big in the 2022 midterm election, but her theory led to mockery and ridicule when she shared it on social media.

In a Twitter thread she posted Friday, Greene said she “truly” believes “one of the most important paths to saving America is by having as many strong Republican governors as possible” and “keeping them in place.” She added:

“How about candidate quality, individual campaign work ethic & ability, and their campaign strategies?”

Greene also took the ubiquitous right-wing shots at the media, which is a requirement for Republicans even though they have Fox News pumping out their propaganda 24/7.

But it was Greene’s call for “candidate quality” that drew the most commentary and mockery on Twitter. After all, if such a thing actually mattered, the congresswoman would never have been elected (much less reelected) to the seat she currently holds.

Or, as one person noted, “Irony is dead.”
