Marjorie Taylor Greene Declares War On Walmart For Selling ‘Sex Toys’

In her latest right-wing crusade, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has declared war on the largest retailer and employer in the United States, Walmart, because she claims they’re selling “sex toys” right next to children’s toothbrushes in their stores.

Newsweek reports:

Greene tweeted Saturday that several of her constituents are “upset and absolutely horrified” after a Walmart in Dalton, Georgia, placed its sex toy products right next to children’s toothbrushes.

She tweeted photos that appeared to show the products being sold in close proximity to each other, but Newsweek could not independently verify when or where the photos were taken.

In a series of tweets, Greene even went so far as to suggest that Walmart was “grooming” children for sexual purposes..

“@Walmart many of your customers in my district are reaching out to me about sex toys being sold in your Dalton store. They’re extremely upset and absolutely horrified that sex toys are being sold openly right next to children’s toothbrushes! This is grooming.”

“The district I represent, GA-14, is firmly opposed to any and all grooming and sexualization of children. It is largely Christian and Conservative. We believe in protecting our kids from perversions and raising them with good, moral, family values to the best of our abilities.”

“On behalf of my district, I am demanding @Walmart resolve this issue immediately. I sincerely hope this is not common product placement in your stores and that the employees responsible will be reprimanded. I do not believe this repulsive grooming represents Walmart.”

The sale of such products in large department stores and pharmacies is just the latest culture war being waged by right-wingers. They claim selling such products “sexualizes” and “grooms” children, and yet going by news reports it seems most of the actual sexual abuse of children is taking place in churches and by those who claim to be religious conservatives.

A few weeks ago, while addressing the New York Young Republican Club, Greene railed against other retailers:

“By the way, you can pick up a butt plug or a dildo at Target and CVS nowadays. I don’t even know how we got here. This is the state that we’re living in right now.”

However, such complaints coming from a woman who allegedly cheated on her ex-husband numerous times is not only the height of hypocrisy, it’s also the ultimate irony.
