Even though Republicans repeatedly insist they aren’t racist and believe in equality for all Americans, they seem to have a penchant for saying that doing things that suggest otherwise and make it clear that their lip service is nothing but hot air, a screen they use to try and hide their real feelings and intentions.
Today’s example of a blatantly racist Republican comes to us in the person of Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), who proved that not only is he badly behind the times when it comes to current events, but also that he’s bigoted to the very core of his tiny, shriveled heart.
As Crooks and Liars reports, Grothman got wind of the fact that at the Grammy Awards (which took place over a month ago, on March 14), Cardi B performed the song “WAP,” which the congressman deemed “inconsistent with basic decency”:
“Grothman has a long history of blaming everything on Black people, especially Black women. In the past he’s attacked Kwanzaa, said that Black women would rather have children out of wedlock because they wanted that sweet, sweet welfare check for a couple hundred bucks per month, and justified voting for some of the most oppressive voter suppression laws in the country because when people vote illegally, they usually vote for Democrats.
“This time, it really turns out that Grothman put his foot in his mouth after stepping in a pile of dog crap. He confessed that he hadn’t even watched the performance by Cardi B until after his one minute tirade about how improper it was.”
Things quickly got much worse for Congressman Grothman when Cardi B joined the debate and verbally emasculated Rep. Doofus on Twitter, carving him up like you’d slice a roast beef before you sit down to dinner:
Oh, in case you’re wondering, Rep. Grothman is indeed a loyal lapdog for failed, one-term former President Donald Trump, who also has a problem with strong black women daring to express their opinions or even sing a song.
Fortunately, Glenn Grothman did accomplish something with his whining: He allowed us to see him get his ass handed to him by a woman with more talent and bravery in her little finger than he’ll ever have in his bloated body.
