Donald Trump Elections

Elections Expert: ‘Failing’ Trump Has ‘Too Much Baggage’ For A 2024 Presidential Run

Will Donald Trump run for the presidency once again in 2024? Well, that depends on whether or not he’s not in prison or a nursing home, but it seems unlikely that he’d have much of a chance even if he did make a second run at the White House.

Allan Lichtman, who is the Distinguished Professor of History at American University whose predictive model has accurately forecast the winner of seven of the last eight U.S. presidential elections, says Trump won’t be running in 2024.

Newsweek reports that Lichtman has excellent reasons for his prediction:

“He’s got $400 million-plus in loans coming due. His brand is failing. His businesses are failing. He has a huge IRS audit. He doesn’t hold office anymore. He’s lost his Twitter. That’s a lot of baggage for somebody to run for president.”

Lichtman said he also doubts that President Joe Biden will seek a second term, but he admits he could be wrong on that call:

“There’s no precedent in American history for starting the presidency at age 78, either. But, as we know, precedents are made to be broken.”

Donald Trump will go down in history as a failed, one-term president. And he will also have the blood of hundreds of thousands of Americans on his hands because he completely mishandled the COVID-19 pandemic. He the worst president in U.S. history and will be noted as such when the history books are written.
