Donald Trump Elections Russia

Donald Trump Now Says Voting By Mail Is A Greater Threat To U.S. Democracy Than Russia

Even though U.S. intelligence is warning that Russia poses a major threat to the upcoming election, President Donald Trump is spouting new talking points that sound like something you’d hear on Russian state TV.

During his Monday press conference, Trump asserted that Democrats and those who want to vote by mail are “meddling” in U.S. elections:

“They said that China, Russia, Iran and probably others, but because of the fake news, they seem to think that Russia plays the best. … Look, the other day they said the three countries. They said China and Russia and Iran and some reporter got up and said, ‘Russia is meddling!’ I said, well didn’t it mention China and Iran? Why didn’t you mention them, too? So, I don’t know. You know what I’m telling you. I’ll tell you who’s meddling in our elections – the Democrats are meddling by wanting and insisting on sending mail-in ballots where there’s corruption all over the place.”

Of course, such a statement raises new questions about where exactly Trump’s loyalties lie. He repeatedly defends Russia and its murderous leader, Vladimir Putin. And that alone suggests that either Putin has damaging information on Trump or is helping launder Russian money through the Trump Organization. Both of those possibilities exist and both may be true.

Why has Trump refused to release his taxes? Some say it’s because he’s not worth as much as he claims, but a more damaging motive would be to hide his extensive financial ties to Russia and other countries such as China, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, all of which Trump has sought to do business with for decades.

Trump doesn’t want to talk about Russia, and when he’s asked about the Russians, he always tries to steer the conversation to another topic.

It looks like we’ll have to cast our ballots for two reasons this November: To get rid of Donald Trump and to finally secure our democracy from the Kremlin. If you still need a reason to vote for anyone but Trump, that alone should be a strong motivator for you.
