Though it has long been clear that Donald Trump Jr. and other members of his family don’t support the U.S. Constitution and think it should be drastically changed, a tweet sent out by the failed former president’s son on Tuesday has some suggesting that Don Jr. is now aligned with the Taliban, the radical religious group that has just retaken control of Afghanistan.
Earlier today, during a press conference, a member of the Taliban was asked if there would be freedom of speech for Afghans now that the hardline Islamic group is in charge of the country. He replied:
“This question should be asked to those people who are claiming to be promoters of freedom of speech who do not allow publication of information. I can ask [the] Facebook company.”
Don Jr. saw that video and couldn’t resist adding his take:
Interesting. Don Jr. is now aligning himself with the Taliban, which believes in stoning people for wearing the wrong clothes or listening to rock music. It’s also the same Taliban that invited former Al Qaeda mastermind Osama Bin Laden into their country where he launched the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.
Of course, what Junior and the Taliban don’t bother to note is that Facebook, Twitter, etc. are private platforms that have terms of service. They don’t have to give you a digital soapbox to spew lies and hatred. The First Amendment does not apply to social media. It never has and it never will.
Many on Twitter saw what Don Jr. had to say and wasted no time reminding him that he had just endorsed the ideas of a terrorist group.
Once again, we see that the Trump family will always side with our enemies. First they did it with Putin, and now they’re on the side of the Taliban. Maybe they need to buy some burkas and move to Afghanistan where they can hate others with the approval of the government.
