Donald Trump Is Suddenly Returning To New York City – Why?

For the very first time since he lost the 2020 presidential election last November, former President Donald Trump will leave his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and travel to New York City, which seems more than a bit odd considering the nasty things the failed, one-term president has said about the Big Apple over the past few years.

According to The Guardian, Trump was expected to arrive in New York as soon as Sunday evening:

“Donald Trump could arrive in New York City for his first visit since leaving the White House as soon as Sunday night, according to multiple reports.

“On Saturday the New York Daily News quoted former Trump lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen referring to a gold statue which made a splash at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Florida last week, when he said: ‘The human Donald must … be put on display for the multitude of NYC followers.'”

But why exactly would Trump be going back to New York? Only two explanations make any sense.

First, his trip to New York may have something to do with the legal problems he’s facing in the state, where he’s under investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. and Attorney General Letitia James. Perhaps he has to give a deposition or meet with his attorneys.

The other possibility is that Donald is returning home to try and revive his failing business, which is reportedly going down the drain at a rapid rate and could soon be bankrupt if some of his lenders call in his loans and demand immediate repayment.

There’s something strange about this spur-of-the moment trip back to Trump’s old haunts, and none of the likely reasons bodes well for him.
