Couy Griffin is the founder of “Cowboys for Trump,” and has long been a avid supporter of the failed, one-term, twice-impeached former president. But based on what he said recently at a QAnon conference in Las Vegas, Griffin now considers Trump to be a liar who made promises but didn’t keep them.
According to Newsweek, Griffin spoke at the “For God and Country Patriot Double Down” event and attacked Trump for failing to act unilaterally on issues that matter to some of the right-wing extremists who threw their support behind Trump in 2016:
“We supported President Trump because of his fight for justice as well. And for four years we cried, ‘Lock her up. Lock her up. Lock her up.’ We know she’s a criminal. What did the president tell us? ‘If I was in charge of the law, you’d be in jail.’
“Ok, Mr. President, you’ve been in charge of the law for four years. At the end of your four year time, the only ones locked up were men like me, and others like me, that have stood by the president the strongest.”
What makes Griffin’s sense of outrage so ironic is that he clearly didn’t bother to do any research before he cast his lot with Trump. If he had, he’d have known that the ex-president has been a pathological liar since childhood and uses words to rook the gullible into believing what he says.
