White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki put Fox News reporter Peter Doocy in his place Monday when he attempted to suggest that the Biden administration is leaving Americans “stranded” in Afghanistan, despite the fact that the U.S. has already airlifted 40,000 Afghans and Americans out of the country so far.
After he let loose with his question/editorial comment, Psaki made it clear she wasn’t about to let Doocy use a question to spread lies, telling him:
Doocy tried to push back on what Psaki said, but she immediately shot him down:
Fox — along with right-wing “news” outlets Newmax and OAN — is looking for a way to attack the Biden administration anyway they can. They know his policies are popular with the American people, so they’re hoping to spread a lie that somehow Americans are being left behind in Afghanistan. They’re also conveniently neglecting to mention that the withdrawal began while failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was still in office.
Doocy was also pilloried on social media for his remarks:
For the next press conference, maybe Fox News can just send Wile E. Coyote and have him show off some of his wonderful wares directly from the Acme Corporation right before they explode and leave him picking up his teeth.
Poor little Jim Jordan. The Ohio Republican congressman longs for the days of massive incompetence, vitriol, and double impeachment that were on full display when failed, one-term former President Donald Trump was still in the White House.
All Jimbo can do now is go on Fox News and whine to host Maria Bartiromo that the world has fallen apart under President Joe Biden, even though every metric that counts suggests otherwise.
Gym appeared on the verge of tears as he bemoaned the fall the Afghan capital city, Kabul, and began free-form ranting like a washed up jazz crooner as he completely overlooked facts and reality to put on his sepia-toned glasses and wax morosely:
Biden is on vacation? He’s at Camp David, which just so happens to have its own Situation Room from which the president can monitor what goes on anywhere in the world. And, better yet, Jordan neglected to mention that he’s also on vacation because Congress is in recess until after Labor Day.
Jordan then harkened back to the dark days of the Trump presidency, which was highlighted by an uncontrolled pandemic, calls for Americans to inject bleach, and a deep recession brought about by Trump’s failure to admit things were as bad as the vast majority of us knew they were:
Really? Trump was withdrawing troops from Afghanistan and wanted to hold “peace talks” with the Taliban. The fall of Kabul can clearly be laid at the feet of Donald Trump and his incompetent Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo.
And that’s not all when it comes to Trump’s foreign policy failures. There was also his attempt to extort Ukraine and Donald’s fawning praise of Russian thug/president Vladimir Putin, a man who has killed thousands of innocents across the globe and also his political opponents shot or dosed with nerve gas.
Jim Jordan is upset because he knows President Biden is delivering results for the American people. All Trump did was enrich himself and his three oldest spawn. The country and the world is better off with Donald Trump as far from the Oval Office as possible.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki wasn’t about to let Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy make light of voting rights in the United States, and she expertly swatted him down during Wednesday’s daily press briefing.
Doocy began by bringing up Texas Democrats who have left the state to keep Republicans from passing new voting restrictions, asking:
Psaki replied:
That led Doocy to sarcastically respond:
But the press secretary was having none of it, and she quickly shot Doocy down:
Doocy thought he’d try and attack the administration again with this query:
But the press secretary was more than ready for that one, too, telling the Fox flunky:
Game, set, and match, Jen Psaki.
Here’s the video of Psaki smacking down Doofus Doocy:
You can tell that former New Jersey GOP Gov. Chris Christie is planning to run for president in 2020 because he’s already using the “socialism” scare word when discussing President Joe Biden’s planned capital gains tax cut to fund infrastructure programs.
But while Christie was spouting talking points, he quickly got his head handed to him by Democratic strategist Angela Rye, who told him and Republican operative Sarah Fagan:
That led Christie to claim that Biden’s proposals aren’t popular with the American people. What he neglected to mention is that a recent poll showed 59% of those surveyed said they support the Biden infrastructure program:
Rye could be heard laughing as Christie spoke, and she was more than ready for him, slapping him down with this retort:
One other thing on capital gains taxes: The vast majority of Americans never have to pay them. The wealthiest taxpayers do. And taxing them won’t do any long-term damage to the economy, despite what conservatives try to claim.
Nice try, Chris, but Angela Rye made sure your lie was exposed and countered with facts.
At the moment, Joe Biden is one of the most popular presidents in recent memory, and even Republicans are giving him high marks for the job he’s doing battling the coronavirus pandemic and his plan to rebuild American infrastructure.
Morning Consult released a poll this week which shows that the Biden agenda is wildly popular among those surveyed, with 65 percent saying they approve of paying for the president’s infrastructure package by increasing taxes on corporations for the next 15 years. Only 21 percent said they’re opposed to raising taxes on big business.
Even 42 percent of registered Republicans said they support higher taxes on corporations, with 47 percent of GOP voters telling pollsters they were opposed to such a plan.
A closer look inside the Morning Consult numbers also has good news for the administration, with 53 percent of those responding saying they they still support tax hikes and only 27 percent saying they wouldn’t support such a plan.
And then there’s this from the poll, which is almost certain to terrify Congressional Republicans:
“When taxes and other potential funding sources aren’t mentioned, Biden’s infrastructure plan enjoys the support of 60 percent of voters, including 84 percent of Democrats, 51 percent of independents and 35 percent of Republicans.”
Americans realize our infrastructure is falling apart and needs to be rebuilt, whether it be roads and bridges our updating schools across the country.
On Biden’s other signature issue, the COVID relief package and plan for getting the majority of us vaccinated, the numbers are also encouraging, with 70 percent saying they think Biden has done the right thing to slow and eventually eliminate spread of the deadly disease.
While Republicans continue to whine and shoot themselves in the foot, President Biden is being rewarded for his bold and decisive ideas. That alone is all the proof you need that the current president is a unifier, unlike his predecessor.
