Lauren Boebert MELTS DOWN When Asked If McCarthy Is About To Be Ousted As Speaker

Things are not going well for the House Republican caucus, and it has everything to do with the fact that Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) managed to pass a 45-day spending bill on Saturday that will avert a shutdown of the federal goverment.

House Democrats crossed the aisle to provide the necessary votes for the spending package, and that has left many on the far right wing of the GOP furious, suggesting that McCarthy needs to be booted as Speaker.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was asked about the temporary spending bill by CNN’s Manu Raju, and she also sounded ticked off that federal offices wouldn’t be shuttered.

“We should have forced them to come to the negotiating table and come to conference and hash out our differences with these four appropriation bills before there was another payday that was at risk of being missed,” Boebert told Raju.

Does that mean Boebert wants to give McCarthy the boot?

“That isn’t what we’re talking about right now.”

“Well, Matt Gaetz has said that if he (McCarthy) relies on Democratic votes, he will no longer be Speaker,” Raju noted.

Boebert snapped:

“I’m not Matt Gaetz.”

“My name is Lauren Boebert. I represent Colorado’s third district and my focus is getting the federal government funded as we ought to with 12 individual spending bills, like we promised everyone in January.”

The Colorado Republican added: “Unfortunately, now we’re at 45 days of the same bipartisan muscle memory of a straight up and down vote and ‘whatever’s in it is good with us.'”

Gaetz, it should be noted, attempted to call a vote that would have pushed McCarthy out as Speaker, but his motion was ignored by the the congressman presiding over the House at the time, leaving Gaetz angry and humiliated, according to reports.

Matt Gaetz Gets Humiliated When He Tries To Boot McCarthy As Speaker

Shortly after the House of Representatives managed to pass a 45-day spending bill that will prevent a shutdown of the federal government, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) was ready to give Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) the boot by calling for a motion to vacate the speakership.

Gaetz has been threatening to remove McCarthy all week if he and his extreme right-wing GOP allies didn’t get everything they wanted in the spending bill, CNN reported.

With the clock ticking down toward a government shutdown, Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz approached a Democratic lawmaker on the House floor this week with a surprising pitch.

Gaetz, who has been threatening Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s speakership almost daily, explained that his rebellion is motivated by a desire to find new leadership that keeps their word, tells the truth, and adheres to regular order – a message that this Democrat described to CNN as “utterly reasonable.”

Gaetz then floated veteran Republican Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma and House GOP Whip Tom Emmer of Minnesota as two alternative examples he had in mind, and then attempted to gauge whether this member would be open to supporting an effort to oust McCarthy. The Democrat told CNN there’s been internal discussions about a wide range of potential asks – from power-sharing agreements to policy ideas.

But while Gaetz had every intention of calling a dismissal vote minutes after the spending package passed late Saturday, he was quickly ignored and then completely shut down on the House floor, according to Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News.

“WOW…. BICE motioned to adjourn the House Shortly before the gavel dropped, GAETZ tried to get the attention of WOMACK who was in the chair. GAVEL DROPPED before Gaetz could be recognized.”

That set off a wave of internet mockery aimed squarely at the confrontational Gaetz.

Poor Matt. Maybe he find some underage girls to help ease his humiliation.

Eric Swalwell Only Needs One Word To Perfectly Describe House Republicans

Having completely abrogated their responsibility to pass a new spending bill that would keep the government running beyond October 1, House Republicans headed home for the weekend and will have five workdays to get legislation passed that will keep the federal government from shutting down.

Clown show? Yes. Clusterfu*k? Most definitely. Typical bullshit from the GOP. Yep.

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is sick of the incompetence and Republican recalcitrance, all of it for nothing more than political posturing.

Appearing on CNN, Swalwell was asked by host John Berman if there would indeed be a government shutdown, to which the congressman responded:

“There shouldn’t be. … Democrats are ready to give the votes to keep the government open. But right now Republicans, they have failed to protect, they’ve failed to fund, and they’ve failed to govern. They are the failures.”

Swalwell added that most of the blame can be laid at the feet of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

“He needs to choose competence over chaos. He needs to choose for the first time in his life to be a leader rather than a spectator speaker.”

McCarthy and his minions in the House caucus are indeed failures, and they’re willing to shutter the government to please another failure: One-term, twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, who is desperate to change the subject from his multiple indictments and 91 criminal charges.

The shutdown doesn’t have to happen. But as long as the GOP remains in control of the House, it probably will. Why? Because failures only know how to fail and losers are destined to lose.

Kevin McCarthy Calls Out Maria Bartiromo For Lying: ‘You’re Saying Things That Are Not True’

We saw something today that millions of us never thought possible: A high-ranking Republican member of Congress went on Fox and actually told the host that she was lying about what she said.

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was a guest on “Sunday Morning Futures” when the host, Maria Bartiromo, began criticizing him for the debt ceiling bill President Joe Biden signed on Saturday.

“I want to go through some of the criticism of this bill because some people say it really was different,” she whined, complaining that the bill failed to eliminate funding for 87,000 new IRS agents. She also noted that she was upset the GOP didn’t get work requirements for Medicaid recipients.

But McCarthy was having none of it, telling Bartiromo, “Well, that’s not true, Maria. Maria, Maria, you’re saying things that are not true.”

“We repealed the 1.4 billion they would spend on hiring new [IRS] agents this year, so no new agents are being hired,” he added. “This is scored as the largest cut.”

McCarthy also bragged that he was proud of the fact that both Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) voted against the final debt ceiling package.

“Did we get it in everything?” he added. “No, but we got [work requirements] in welfare that puts people back to work, the core of what we looked for.”

A clearly annoyed Bartiromo retorted, “To be clear, the bulk of that money is still in the bill that the president signed.”

“OK, Maria, Maria, pause for one moment,” McCarthy explained. “Maria, pause for one moment. That was already in law. We do not have the Senate. We do not have the presidency. But we just stopped them from hiring any IRS agents.”

How does a Fox host know she’s a lying liar? When then top House Republican tells her to her face.

Kevin McCarthy Orders House Committees To Run Interference For Trump If He’s Indicted

Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Saturday that if former president Donald Trump is indicted next week in Manhattan as expected, he wants the relevant House committees to “immediately” determine if any federal funds have been used to investigate the failed ex-president.

McCarthy made his intentions clear via a posting on Twitter.

“Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”

McCarthy’s comments came just hours after Trump went on an unhinged rant, with his post made on the failing Truth Social site.

“NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”

McCarthy’s comments drew a sharp response from presidential historian Michael Beschloss, who noted, “This almost disgraceful tweet that Kevin McCarthy has put out and I don’t use that word often to describe speakers of the House. He is interfering with the process of the rule of law; this is a duly elected D.A. in New York who we don’t even know what’s going to happen yet or what the grand jury is going to do. But the speaker of the House has absolutely no business interfering with this process, siding with one side, Donald Trump’s side, and also saying that he is going to investigate the use of federal funds to interfere.”

Beschloss continued:

“We don’t know what’s going to happen yet so, you have an ex-president calling for a protest we now know could turn into violence, as it did on the 6th of January, 2021. Hordes invaded the Capitol, we were in danger of killing the vice president, killing the speaker of the House, other members of the congress, the defiling of the House and Senate chambers. That’s what happened that day. But at least, as horrible as that was, you and I talked about it that day, at least you had a speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, where we could be sure that she would do her best to try to protect the Capitol against violent attack. After this statement by Kevin McCarthy, we have no such reassurance.”
