GOP’s Impeachment Inquiry Of Biden Starting To Collapse As New Evidence Clears Him

As House Republicans continue to move ahead with their impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden, new evidence is completely undercutting their narrative of why they think Biden has committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

James Bickerton of Newsweek reports that the central element the GOP’s so-called “case” against the president has collapsed, leaving them with no logical explanation for their sham investigation other than to divert attention from the multiple legal problems facing failed former president Donald Trump, who has been indicted on 91 criminal counts in four separate jurisdictions.

Republican efforts to impeach President Joe Biden suffered a blow after fresh evidence emerged showing his bid to remove Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in 2015 represented U.S. government policy.

Then-Vice President Biden met Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian president at the time, in December 2015, after which he claimed he’d threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid to Kyiv, unless Shokin was removed from his post, which he subsequently was.

Some conservatives have suggested Biden was attempting to protect Ukrainian energy company Burisma, the board of which his son, Hunter Biden, had joined in 2014, by moving against Shokin. However a pre-meeting memo prepared for Biden by the State Department, dated November 25, 2015, made it clear that removing Shokin was the Obama administration’s policy.

Biden was merely following the administration’s policy when it came to Shokin’s ouster, not trying to enrich himself or his son.

Biden himself has been clear exactly what he said regarding Shokin and why he insisted on him being removed as prosecutor in the Burisma case, remarking:

“I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours. I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.
“Well, son of a b****. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

Shokin, however, maintains that there was a quid pro quo, telling Fox News that he was booted from his office “Well, son of a b****. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.

But Shokin’s accusation is seriously undercut by a complete lack of documentation proving that Shokin was actively investigating Burisma at the time he was removed from his post for allegedly being corrupt.

Despite there being no evidence of any wrongdoing by President Biden, Republicans continue to move forward with their inquiry, which is starting to look like little more than a political game designed to damage the man who beat Donald Trump like a drum in the 2020 election.

Biden Has The Perfect Three-Word Response To GOP Calls For His Impeachment

On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy announced that he would instruct the relevant committees to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, even though he has yet to lay out a shred of evidence that ties the president to any high crimes or misdemeanors.

In his statement to the media, CNN notes, McCarthy tried to justify the move.

“These are allegations of abuse of power, obstruction and corruption,” the California Republican said in remarks outside his office on Capitol Hill. “They warrant further investigation by the House of Representatives. That’s why today I am directing our House (committees) to open a formal impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.”

The House-led GOP investigations have yet to provide any direct evidence that the president financially benefited from Hunter Biden’s career overseas.

McCarthy is also skirting House rules by not calling for a formal vote of the full House to determine if a majority support an inquiry. That’s because the Speaker knows he doesn’t have the votes needed to pass such a motion, and losing on a vote would be devastating to him as he attempts to fight off extremist right-wingers in the GOP caucus who are eager to get payback for the two impeachments of failed former president Donald Trump.

Though the White House has made a few carefully worded comments on the impeachment inquiry, with spokesperson Ian Sams calling it “extreme politics at its worst,” Biden had remained mum.

Until today, that is.

As he returned to the White House on Sunday, Biden was asked about the inquiry by reporters. His response was curt and to the point.

“Lots of luck!”

Dark Brandon knows exactly how to troll the GOP.

Confused Trump Claims Biden Will Lead The Country Into ‘World War 2’ During Error-Filled Speech

During a speech he gave Friday at the D.C. Pray Vote Stand Summit, failed one-term, twice-impeached and oft-indicted former president Donald Trump accused President Joe Biden of being “cognitively impaired,” and then proceeded to make one gaffe after another as part of his remarks.

“We have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country, who is cognitively impaired, in no condition to lead, and is now in charge of dealing with Russia and possible nuclear war.”

The disgraced ex-president added:

“Just think of it. We would be in World War 2 very quickly if we’re going to be relying on this man, and far more devastating than any war. There will never be a war if that happens— there will never be a war like this. It will obliterate everything there is, everybody, it will obliterate every country.”

Umm…wasn’t World War 2 from 1939-45? That’s certainly what the history books say. Then again, Trump never bothers to read or do any research, so it’s not exactly surprising that he doesn’t know when the Second World War took place.

In yet another bizarre claim, Trump also seemed to suggest that he’s beating former President Barack Obama in the 2024 polls.

“As you know, crooked Joe Biden and the radical left thugs have weaponized law enforcement to arrest their leading political opponent, and leading by a lot, including Obam— I’ll tell you what,” he said. “You take a look at Obama and take a look at some of the things that he’s done, this is the same thing.”

He continued: “The country was very divided, and we did with Obama, we won an election that everyone said couldn’t be won, we beat Hillary Clinton.”

So who exactly is cognitively impaired?

Joe Biden’s Latest Nickname For Trump Is Guaranteed To Enrage The Former Guy

President Joe Biden knows exactly how to get under Donald Trump’s thin skin, and he’s doing it again by giving the failed, one-term and twice-impeached former president a nickname that’s certain to push the Donald’s buttons.

Biden was speaking at a community college in Maryland and noted that Trump was one of just two president’s in U.S. history who left office with fewer jobs than when he began.

“One was President Hoover, and the other was Donald Hoover Trump. My predecessor promised to be the greatest job president in history. Well, it didn’t really work out that way. He lost 2 million jobs over the course of his presidency.”

Biden is absolutely correct, and that makes his new nickname for Trump even more devastating, as Forbes noted back in 2021.

“(Trump was) the first post–World War II president to see employment fall during his presidency. It last occurred when Herbert Hoover left office in 1933 amid the early years of the Great Depression.”

How many jobs were lost on Trump’s watch? According to the Washington Post, which used Labor Department figures, 3 million American jobs were lost while Trump was in office.

Biden’s latest burn was greeted with cheers on Twitter.

Comer Rages After Hunter Biden Is Indicted On Gun Charge Because He ‘Can’t Tie Joe Biden Into It’

Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, is furious that the Justice Department decided to indict Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, on three gun charges, and he made it clear when asked about the indictment that he’s most upset that DOJ charged Hunter Biden with a crime he cannot tie the president to.

Mediate notes:

Months ago, Comer was among those who complained Hunter Biden was getting a “sweetheart deal” with the Justice Department before that deal wound up falling apart.

That led a reporter to ask the congressman, “Sounds like you are still expressing skepticism. I mean, the idea that you wanted an indictment. From your perspective here, that’s not enough?”

Comer replied, “You have never heard me say anything about gun charges. Again, that’s the one crime he’s committed that you cannot tie to Joe Biden.”

Doesn’t the indictment prove that Special Counsel David Weiss did the right thing and wasn’t “politicized?”

The Kentucky Republican replied, “Well, I don’t know. We’ll see. That was an easy charge. So, I’m still holding out hope that Weiss does the right thing. This is — again — the least of all the dozen crimes he’s committed, the one charge, the one crime that Joe Biden wasn’t involved.”

Comer later issued a statement which he posted on social media. It reads:

“Today’s charges against Hunter Biden are a very small start, but unless U.S. Attorney Weiss investigates everyone involved in the fraud schemes and influence peddling, it will be clear President Biden’s DOJ is protecting Hunter Biden and the big guy.”

Translation: Comer has no case and now he has no leverage over Hunter Biden. Matter of fact, he probably cannot subpoena the president’s son because his attorneys won’t allow him to testify before Congress.

Of course, Comer never had any evidence of wrongdoing by the president, but now he has absolutely nothing. He has no proof of anything and he can’t use Hunter Biden as a designated whipping boy.

In other words, Comer and the GOP are f*cked.
