British Journalist: ‘I Sense Panic At The White House’ As Trump-Russia Probe Expands (VIDEO)

This was a very bad week for the Trump administration. It began with the House Intelligence Committee hearings on the Trump-Russia connection and ended with a humiliating loss on Trumpcare legislation.

But British journalist Louise Mensch said on Real Time Friday evening that the Russia matter is generating the greatest discomfort at the White House.

Mensch began by urging House Speaker Paul Ryan to remove Devin Nunes as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee:

“You’ve got to say, ‘He’s got to go now!’ I don’t care if he’s your mate. I don’t care if he’s your buddy. He’s got to go.”

As for the Russia matter, Mensch said that in her opinion:

“We are a lot further down the line to the end of this than most people think. I sense panic at the White House. I sense an absolute whiff of panic.”

Host Bill Maher said he wasn’t sure FBI Director James Comey could be trusted to run an investigation into the possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. To that, Mensch replied:

“There are two sides to the FBI. There are the criminal field office divisions that we’re talking about and there’s the counterintelligence division. They issued the FISA warrant as I reported, and James Comey is taking it very seriously.”

Now let’s engage in a moment of speculation: Let’s say that Comey uncovers concrete evidence that the Trump team did indeed work with the Russians in order to win the 2016 election. Then what? Yes, there might be indictments and even calls for Trump to be impeached, but if Trump is removed from office, we get Mike Pence, which in some ways is an even more frightening prospect. Might a new election be in order? Such a thing has never taken place in American history.

There does indeed seem to be fear at the White House. Which would seem to suggest that they know they’re guilty of something.
