Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) says people who are worried about global warming and climate change are just a bunch of nervous Nellies, because the fact that the planet it heating up is a good thing and even “healthy for us.”
Appearing on Right Side Broadcasting (which is to the far right of Fox News), Greene proved her complete ignorance of science and facts by remarking:
People also die in the extreme heat, yet Greene conveniently neglected to mention that, continuing with her ridiculous rant:
Of course, as you’d expect, Greene’s assertion doesn’t stand up to the simplest of fact checking, which could easily be accomplished with a quick Google search that would take you data from NASA regarding what humans are doing to the Earth:
“Two NASA satellites have watched Earth grow greener over the last 20 years — in large part because China is hellbent on planting millions of trees,. China’s intensive greening efforts, however, have been vastly overshadowed by civilization’s still-rising carbon emissions — which at the current pace likely won’t even peak for another decade. And China is largely to blame.”
“Multiple studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals show that 97 percent or more of actively publishing climate scientists agree: Climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities.”
Leave to someone as dense as Marjorie Greene to declare that the hotter the planet gets, the better. Guess that means she doesn’t need to run her air conditioning in the Georgia summer. After all, all that heat is healthy for her.
