Donald Trump Elections

A Mere 17% Of Americans Say They’re Proud To Be Living In Donald Trump’s ‘Great’ America

Four years ago, Donald Trump’s campaign slogan (which he even had emblazoned on made-in China baseball caps) was “Make America Great Again.” He said it everywhere and acted like he’d invented the phrase, even though Ronald Reagan used it years before and did so without being an arrogant douche about it.

So where do we stand on the “great” meter today, four months before the next election? Well, based on the latest poll from the highly respected Pew Research Center, only 17 percent of those surveyed said they’re proud of their country under Trump’s leadership.

How do people feel? Here’s the breakdown:

You read that correctly: 87 percent said they’re dissatisfied with the way things are going in Donald Trump’s “great” America, and numbers like that are the sort of thing that almost always get the incumbent booted from office by voters.

Before anyone wonders why exactly we’re so pessimistic these days, consider a few salient points:

  • Over 130,00 Americans are dead from coronavirus, which Trump doesn’t even pretend to give a diddly damn about these days
  • 40 million people are unemployed
  • People are marching for equal justice under the law for all people, no matter the color of their skin

While it’s never fair to blame everything on the sitting president, the three items above are a direct result of his inaction, his fecklessness, and his willingness to engage in the caustic language of us against them. He defends monuments to men who betrayed their nation and thumbs his nose at true American heroes such as Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The American public is not happy. It’s as if they can sense the country has been driven off the rails by a man who is only good at fomenting hatred and division. He divides in order to conquer and then to consolidate his own power.

Donald Trump is an utter failure as president. He’s also a failure as a human being. And the only way to right what he’s done is to rebuke him publicly on November 3. If we don’t, the soul of this nation will be lost forever.
