Rob Reiner’s Reaction To Trump Going To Mexico WINS THE INTERNET For Today

Seems there’s been endless commentary today about Donald Trump’s hastily arranged trip to Mexico to meet with President Enrique Peña Nieto. For the past year, all Trump has said about Mexico is how it’s filled with murderers, rapists, and drug dealers. To hear the GOP nominee tell it, you cannot walk down the street in our neighbor to the South without fearing for your life.

Trump says he will deport 11 million Hispanic people who are in the United States and build a gigantic wall on the Southern border. Considering the vile things Trump has said, one wonders why the Mexican President is even wasting his time with Trump. Might Nieto be planning to publicly humiliate the Donald? Or is all this just theatrics? We should know later today.

One person who has an opinion on Trump’s trip to Mexico is actor and director Rob Reiner, who has never been shy about expressing his thoughts on the Orange Menace. In the past, Reiner has criticized the media for not being tougher on Trump. He also recently had this to say:

“It’s easy to behave this way when you’re mentally ill. It’s not like he’s trying to lose. He can’t help himself.”

And now Rob Reiner has unofficially won the internet for the day with this perfectly worded tweet:

Yep, it needed to be said, and Reiner said it. Thank you, Rob. We appreciate everything you’re doing to help defeat this pathetic excuse of a human being.

Moronic Trump Fans Think He’s Coming Back From Mexico With A Check To Pay For The Wall

When Donald Trump travels to Mexico today to meet with the Mexican President, it seems likely that the topic of immigration and the wall Trump has promised to build on the U.S.-Mexico border will come up, but if you look on social media at the postings of some of the Orange Menace’s most rabid fans, it would appear that Trump will return to the United States victorious, a check in hand to pay for the wall.

It’s tempting to laugh at these fools, but it’s also more than a bit depressing to think that there are people dumb enough to fall for the bullshit Trump sows every single time he opens that big yapper of his.

Take a look and see for yourself:

Keep in mind that Joe Walsh is a former member of Congress!

Sad and pathetic, isn’t it? But these rubes have been buying Trump’s lies for over a year now. Why would they suddenly use logic and rational thought now when they’re obviously devoid of either? Maybe we should encourage them to all hold their collective breath until they see the check.

Is There Really A Clinton-Trump Horserace?

I was surfing the internet last night and happened upon a piece on Slate by Jamelle Bouie that immediately caught my eye. The headline was intriguing: “There Is No Clinton-Trump Horserace.” Well, I thought, you’ve got my attention now, and I immediately started reading the article.

The more I read, the more I realized Bouie was absolutely right and that this race is over with. Sure, there are two candidates running, but all the polling numbers and other factors all suggest that race itself is merely a formality because Clinton is going to win. As the article states, when it comes to a horserace, the reality can best be summed up thusly:

“There is no horse race here. Clinton is far enough ahead, at a late enough stage in the election, that what we have is a horse running by itself, unperturbed but for the faint possibility of a comet hitting the track. Place your bets accordingly.”

Now, I certainly don’t expect you to take my word (or Jamelle Bouie’s) for it. So let’s lay some facts and numbers on the table and see what develops.

The Polls

Clinton leads in the Talking Points Memo average by a margin of 3.3 percentage points. The Real Clear Politics averaging of polls shows Clinton in the lead by a 6 points. Lastly, the Huffington Post’s average of national public polls has Clinton leading by 7 points. A 2 to 3-point margin would indicate a close race. But in modern presidential elections, 6 to 7 points suggests a landslide on the order of 2008, when President Obama beat John McCain.

Along that same line, polling models from FiveThirtyEight, the New York Times, and the Princeton Election Consortium all tell us that Clinton will be the victor in November,  FiveThirtyEight gives her an 85 percent chance of winning. The Times calculator places Clinton’s chances at 89 percent. Princeton says Clinton has 96 percent chance of victory.

Let’s say you’re making a friendly wager with a buddy for a steak dinner and you’re told in advance you have an 85 to 96 percent chance of winning. Do you also include in that wager a bottle of the best Scotch on the market? I would take that bet any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

The Campaigns

Clinton is running a professional campaign which is backed by large sums of money and fully staffed at every level, including in the states which will be the margin of victory. Just last week, in contrast, we learned that a 12-year-old is running Trump’s campaign in Colorado. Nothing against young people, but are you kidding me?!

But even if Trump makes a decision to fully staff his campaign at this point (and he won’t), it’s too late to make that change and expect any results. That kind of infrastructure has to be in place a year or more in advance of a national election on the Presidential level. If you doubt that, go have a chat with the folks who ran both of President Obama’s races and they’ll tell you the same thing.

States In Play

Georgia, Missouri, South Carolina, and Utah are still in play. Do you think George W. Bush would have lost those states? No. And he didn’t. So just the fact that they’re still competitive tells you all you need to know. Trump is toast.

Horserace? One horse is nearing the finish line and the other is still the barn having its morning oats.

Trump-Supporting Pastor: Trump Will End Joblessness By ‘Returning’ Blacks To Africa

We’ve all heard some incredibly stupid and downright ridiculous things during the course of the 2016 race for the White House, but what happened this morning on CNN may wind up serving as the most bizarre thing yet.

Apostle Thomas Rodgers, Sr. of Antioch Road to Glory International Ministries in North Carolina, was speaking to Carol Costello about Trump’s chances among African-American voters when out of nowhere he said blacks should be given dual citizenship so they can go back to Africa and find jobs:

“African-Americans are the only people in the world who do not seek dual citizenship. That’s why Chicago gangs, California gangs, the Crips and the Bloods and Detroit in Michigan — we have gangs in the streets because blacks have no vision, they have no leadership.”

Apostle Rodgers has also advocated building a road from the United States to Africa, and Costello asked him about that idea. He replied:

“Matter of fact, where our ancestors came from, from the Indian Ocean all the way across the Atlantic Ocean, that’s 4,000 miles and we want to go back and help with the highways all the way across, to create jobs, train rails, pipelines, oil, petroleum. They create jobs for young people that can’t find jobs here, that the Democrats have not did.”

So what exactly is Rodgers trying to say? He gladly elaborated:

“To return. It’s a clause in the United Nations charter, our right to return, to help build infrastructure. Everybody don’t want to stay here. We are skilled people.”

Democratic strategist Angela Rye, who was also part of the discussion, couldn’t help but laugh and say that building a literal road back to Africa was “probably impossible.”

How’s that Trump outreach to African-Americans going? Clearly, it’s a disaster.

WATCH: Fact Checking Leaves Trump Supporter SPEECHLESS!

Earlier today on CNN, we got a perfect example of that when Trump acolyte and CNN analyst Kayleigh McEnany was shut down and left speechless by fellow contributor Maria Cardona.

The debate began when CNN host Alisyn Camerota reminded McEnany of what Trump has said in recent weeks as he’s flip-flopped on the immigration issue:

“He meant deporting all of them. Does that stand this week?”

McEnany replied:

“He’s setting priorities. That may be the last priority. But his priorities are those that reflect the voters he’s speaking to. And the president, after all, should reflect voters.”

Cardona interjected that Trump’s calls for “humane” deportation is just a “clueless” policy, adding:

“What does that mean? That there will be cushions on the buses and they’ll get milk and cookies on the way to the border. Who knows?

“He supposedly talked about softening his stance, which we now see is not really softening his stance. He’s going back to his priority of deporting all of the 11 or 12 million undocumented immigrants. But who knows how he’s going to do that.”

Then Cardona spoke both reality and truth when she noted that Trump “has no idea how existing immigration law works.”

McEnany, unable to respond to that assertion, started in by saying that the Obama Administration released:

“20,000 criminals, 200 of which have murder convictions, 800 of which had sexual offenses.”

But Cardona was ready for this line of rhetoric and fired back:

“Kayleigh continues to bring up this figure. The fact of the matter is that under both George W. Bush administration and the Obama administration, there are some convicted criminals who have been released.

“But guess why? It is because many of them — most of them, in fact — have actually served their sentence here in the U.S. jails. In addition, many others have been granted release by immigration judges and immigration courts. Additionally, there are various countries — China, Cuba, Vietnam — who don’t accept deportation, who don’t accept removals back to their own home country.

“So again, cluelessness when it comes to real immigration law, what we are really facing in terms of the solutions that are needed.”

Not only was McEnany unable to respond, she just sat there and began blinking uncontrollably. She wasn’t just a deer caught in headlights, she was a Trump fan who had just been caught lying and she knew she had no comeback.

Watch for yourself. It’s hilarious!
