WTF?! Benghazi Committee Wants To Interview Callers To Talk Shows As Witnesses

How can we tell conclusively that the House Select Committee on Benghazi is quite literally a joke and cannot ever hope to be taken as anything more than a political hatchet job on Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton? They now want to use callers to Sean Hannity’s radio show as witnesses.

Assistant Secretary of Defense Stephen Hedger laid out a list of abuses by the committee since they began their investigation in 2012, and he also noted:

“The Committee has requested to interview an individual identified as ‘John from Iowa’ who described himself as a Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) camera operator on a talk radio show, where he described what he allegedly saw in the video feed from the night of the attack. The Department has expended significant resources to locate anyone who might match the description of this person, to no avail. The Committee staff then expanded this initial request to include all RPA pilots and RPA sensor operators who operated in the region that night.”

Keep in mind the Benghazi committee has already wasted $6.7 million in taxpayer funds on this bogus, politically-motivated farce. The former Secretary of State also testified before the committee for over 11 hours and never once refused to answer any question that was asked of her. But now we’re supposed to foot the bill for these same GOP hacks to track down callers to right-wing talk shows.

One thing I personally hope happens if Clinton is elected President in November: I hope she sits down and writes a letter to the Benghazi committee. Something short and sweet like this:

Dear Morons:

I win, you lose, ha ha ha!

Hillary

Book Claims Trump’s First Wife Said He Had ‘Difficulty Achieving And Maintaining An Erection’

Well, whattaya know. Turns out it wasn’t the size of Donald Trump’s hands–or other appendages–that we should have wondered about. Instead, it’s the fact that he may be a genius at erecting buildings, but not much when it comes to what resides below his belt line.

A report from Politico quotes a section from the 1993 biography “Lost Tycoon: The Many Lives of Donald J. Trump,” in which this was revealed:

“Want to know where Trump inherited his entrepreneurial bent? Gwenda Blair traces it to his grandfather, who ran a series of restaurants in the Klondike that featured some of the best food in town, as well as private areas where ‘sporting ladies’ could ‘entertain’ miners. Who was really doing the deals that made Trump famous? Wayne Barrett will tell you the only signature that really mattered on a contract belonged to Trump’s father, Fred. What broke up Trump’s first marriage? Harry Hurt III writes that Ivana ‘confided to female friends that Donald had difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection.’”

Wait a minute! What was that? Trump’s first marriage broke up because he couldn’t manage to maintain an erection? Hmm…that might explain all the bragging about how rich he is. It might also explain why he felt a need to say that he was up to par in the lower regions despite his tiny hands.

As you might guess, Trump was not pleased with Hurt’s assertion. Hurt recalls:

“Prior to the publication of my book, he and his lawyer, Jay Goldberg, came to scream at the folks at Norton, mainly about Ivana’s divorce deposition… And finally Donald got so frustrated, he jumped up and he pulls a tape recorder out of his coat pocket. He said, ‘I’ve been recording all this,’ and our little lawyer looked at him, and Goldberg just turned like this napkin, white. ‘You’ve been recording this and you didn’t tell us? That’s not right.’ And I’m going, ‘Yeah.’

“They walked out and I said, ‘He can’t sue us now. He’s not going to sue us because they just shot themselves in the foot.’”

Can you see the attack ads that Super PACs supporting Hillary will run as a result of this? And even if they don’t, they can always institute an unofficial whispering campaign that will keep the issue front and center all the way to Election Day.

Maybe Trump says Hillary is always playing the “woman card” because his own deck of cards is not stacked very well.

Carly Fiorina’s New VP Website Redirects To The Perfect Example Of Karma

First Carly Fiorina tried to win a Senate race and lost badly to Barbara Boxer. Then she ran for the GOP nomination and failed miserably. And yesterday Ted Cruz announced her as his pick for Vice President, even though he has as much chance of being the 2016 nominee as my dog. Clearly, Ms. Fiorina just cannot win for losing. Considering how much Carly lies and loves to deal in falsehoods, it seems only fitting that what has happened with her new VP website was revealed on the very same day she stood with Teddy Boy and pretended to have a chance in hell of ever being elected.

Direct your web browser over to CarlyFiorinaForVicePresident.com, and instead of a page loading for Fiorina, you are redirected to the donations page for Planned Parenthood, which Fiorina hates with a passion.

No doubt you recall that as she slogged her way through her pathetic attempt to gain votes in the GOP primaries, Fiorina said she’d seen videos of live fetuses on tables with Planned Parenthood doctors saying they had to harvest the brain of the unborn child. She could never produce these videos, but she continually insisted she had seen one that showed the horrific scene.

And now karma has grabbed ahold of Carly Fiorina and provided an important lesson for her and other right-wing extremists who want to try and control the reproductive freedom of women across the country. Planned Parenthood provides important healthcare services to millions of women annually, but to hear Fiorina and Cruz tell it, they just want to try and sell body parts from aborted fetuses. Again, they have no proof of this, but who needs proof when you’re engaged in propaganda?

So, Carly, how about we all head on over to your website and donate some money to Planned Parenthood? Something tells me its money well spent, especially if it helps show you how much we all dislike you and the asshat you’ve just yoked yourself to.

WATCH: Lesbian Kicked Out Of Women’s Restroom Because She ‘Looks Like A Boy’

Legislators in states that have recently passed so-called “bathroom bills” claim their only concern is the safety of the public. They allege that sexual predators will try to gain access to the wrong public bathroom even though they have no proof of this happening. Trust us, they say. This is all in the interest of the public. Often they will even couch such legislation under the banner of protecting children.

Yet we come to a video like the one below and we see what really happens when such laws are enacted in real life. A video was recently uploaded to YouTube that clearly shows a lesbian being physically forced out of a restroom by police officers because they insist she looks like a boy. The woman tries several times to explain that she’s a female, but police don’t buy it. A male officer demands that she produce identification and prove that she is actually a girl. The woman says that she doesn’t have her ID with her, which leads the cop to demand, “Out” as he forces her to leave the bathroom.

It hasn’t yet been determined where this video was shot — might it have been Mississippi or North Carolina, where bathroom bills recently went into effect? — but one thing is clear: We are now living in a world where the police are being used to harass those who are trying to mind their own business and use the bathroom. It’s eerily reminiscent of the 1960s, when water cannons and attack dogs were used to pacify African-Americans in the South. Police were also known to arrest or harass blacks who dared to drink from the wrong water fountain, eat at the wrong lunch counter, or sit in the wrong section of a bus.

Some have suggested that LGBT rights are the civil rights issue of our day. It’s hard to argue with that when you watch the video of this woman being told she cannot even exercise her right as an American to use a public bathroom. Is that what we want to teach our children? Do we want to harass people simply because they’re different? And what are we willing to do to ensure no one else is ever treated in this way?

WTF?! NC Governor Says Voting Should Be As Difficult As Making Meth

Republicans love to talk about freedom, democracy, and other red, white, and blue terms they believe will motivate their base to go out and vote when election day rolls around. Yet it’s these same Republicans who then turn around and pass restrictive voter ID laws designed for the sole reason of limiting who can vote when the polls are open.

The perfect example of this can be found in North Carolina. When the GOP-controlled North Carolina legislature and Republican Governor Pat McCrory weren’t busy passing bills to restrict who can use certain public restrooms, they also found time to pass one of the most restrictive voter ID laws in the country. They say it’s to put an end to voter fraud, which was virtually nonexistent even before the legislation went into effect.

North Carolina’s law, which was summarized by the New York Times, just passed a major legal hurdle, with a federal judge ruling in favor of the state. As the Times reported:

“The opinion, by Judge Thomas D. Schroeder of Federal District Court in Winston-Salem, upheld the repeal of a provision that allowed people to register and vote on the same day. It also upheld a seven-day reduction in the early-voting period; the end of preregistration, which allowed some people to sign up before their 18th birthdays; and the repeal of a provision that allowed for the counting of ballots cast outside voters’ home precinct.

“It also left intact North Carolina’s voter identification requirement, which legislators softened last year to permit residents to cast ballots, even if they lack the required documentation, if they submit affidavits.”

Shortly after Judge Schroder’s ruling, Governor McCrory decided to take a victory lap, so he issued this statement:

“This ruling further affirms that requiring a photo ID in order to vote is not only common-sense, it’s constitutional. Common practices like boarding an airplane and purchasing Sudafed require photo ID and thankfully a federal court has ensured our citizens will have the same protection for their basic right to vote.”

Then again, boarding an airplane and buying Sudafed aren’t exactly basic tenets of our democratic system of government, now are they? Yes, you do indeed have to show ID before you purchase any drug containing  pseudoephedrine, and I don’t think many people you surveyed would have a problem with that law. But to equate making meth with voting is disingenuous and just plain ridiculous.

Republicans don’t want some people–minorities, the poor–to vote. They could at least be honest enough to admit it and not try to make false equivalencies.
